Years later, when it came to the daunting question - "what do you want to do with your life?" - the idea of baking and opening up a shop was one I never could shake.
After traveling to London, Paris, and New York City to learn from the best, I decided my hometown of Cleveland needed a bakery that could compare! A "sweets boutique" that had treats just as beautiful as those from Paris, but tasted like my mom and I used to make growing up. In the summer of 2014, Kelsey Elizabeth Cakes was born, and I signed my first commercial lease at 24 years old, never looking back!

Kelsey Elizabeth Cakes is a boutique bakery, serving up the prettiest sweets in Cleveland since 2014. Kelsey's mom, Liz, taught Kelsey young, that creativity can go a long way, that everything can be beautifully made, and most importantly, that it is okay to eat cake for breakfast. When Kelsey was just 24 she decided to take these principals into her career and with the help of Liz and her dad, Joe, they began to build the Avon Lake location.
Each theme day, we base our entire case on a specific theme, and go all out with flavors, designs, and specialty sweets! Some of our favorite theme days include: Fun in the Sun Day, Circus Day, and Mystical Day! Each year our theme days change. Lines for theme days definitely start early, but usually get going around 9am.
Kelsey Elizabeth Cakes books occasion cakes anywhere from 2-6 weeks in advance, depending on the time of year. We recommend ordering your cake as soon as you know the details! Once a weekend is fully booked we are not able to take any more cakes. Large orders should be booked at least 1-2 months in advance to avoid disappointment.
If you'd like to taste specific flavors or combinations, you can order a tasting box at either of our shops and take it home to try whenever is convenient for you and your fiance. Simply call or email the shop to order your tasting box, and pick out 3 flavors, and 3 fillings from the list below. Want to try more than 3 flavors or fillings?
Our classic cupcakes topped with a variety of designs, including crystals, roses, swirls, and sprinkles. Perfect for a gender reveal party, and can be filled with either pink or blue buttercream for a hidden gender announcement! A sweet dozen which includes buttercream tutus, crystals, and roses, or can be ordered with all tutus.

This was our first experience at the Rocky River location and it was wonderful! There was a line out the door, but we did not have to wait long. The bakery was clean and pretty. The staff was friendly and patient with us trying to decide what to get it. It was hard because everything looked amazing! On our way out, my 5 year old son dropped our box of macarons and they spilled out. A gentleman from the bakery helped us clean up the mess. He insisted he get us all new macarons. I felt bad and said it was okay, but he would not take no for an answer. The macarons were so good! Can’t wait to eat

Been here and the Avon Lake location multiple times and it’s always amazing. I’ve had their cupcakes and macarons. They’re reasonably priced in my opinion ($3/cupcake, $2.25 I think per macaron) and the cupcakes especially are soo so good. Very rich and moist and the frosting is quality. I don’t even like a lot of frosting normally but here they manage to make it flavorful without being too sweet.

After all the hype I decided to check out KE. I can say that the salted chocolate chip cookie was one of the better cookies I’ve had. It’s slightly underbaked so it has a really nice cookie dough taste. I would happily have another, and they’re huge.
As far as cupcakes, it’s a hard pass for me. I tried the confetti and the apple pie (?). The frosting on both was extremely sweet and overpowering. I love sweet frosting but this was too much for me. Had the most absurd interactions with the employees that lack basic human etiquette and the ability to acknowledge and apologize when mistakes clearly have been made.
Had a cake pre-ordered and pre-paid greater than 2 months in advance. There was a power outage a day prior to promised pick up date and the store failed to reach out to notify of this fact.
I showed up to the location within the promised agreed upon time frame at the RR location, which was a half an hour drive, to find a sign saying that the store is closed. Thankfully a presence of an employee was noticed in the store whose attention

Cute little bakery. Wide variety of sugary treats and snacks. Everything in this place was colorful and bright. All the employees were helpful and gave great advice about what the specials were as well as pricing. When we got around to eating our delicious treats we were rewarded with a rainbow of flavors. The macaroons and brownies were beautiful as well as delicious. I would recommend anyone looking to indulge into some sweets to seriously try this bakery.

Love this bakery! Kelsey's style is so adorable and she comes up with the cutest ideas. The case cakes are so amazing, I end up buying them when I'm not even planning to get one. My favorite treat is her cupcakes, they're moist and there's so many flavors and the buttercream is delicious. The macrons are also awesome and a perfect gift for friends/hosts/teachers!

Went on a Saturday around opening, it was pretty busy. People ordering cakes, picking up cakes for special occasions and just picking up soon cupcakes and macaroons. The cookie dough didn't look appetizing so we avoided it but we did order one of every macaroon. There was a box of 12 and 4 extra. I believe they carry 16 flavors at a time. They are about a half dollar size and packed with flavor. My favorite was the lemon and blueberry. The shop is adorable and the staff was friendly and attentive.

If you're looking for beautiful, delicious desserts, Kelsey Elizabeth is definitely the place to go! You can tell how much work Kelsey and her staff put into each treat. Staff are always so friendly and happy to help, and the aesthetic of the boutique is so fun and beautiful. Not to mention, everything is delicious!
