It was easy to rent a bike here. I did have some problems with the gears on my bike but it didn't affect my ride too much. You can ride out the back of the shop and cruise along the coast line either north or south. The rental is a minimum of 3 hours. You can do 3 hours or all day. 3 hours was perfect for us.

I'm a Mendocino local.
This is about my recent, 1st trip into the shop.
Found the owner to be extremely rude. Barking directives at me from behind the service counter.
The woman (assuming his wife) was much nicer. But the rude dude was yelling at her as well... As she was trying to assist me. Won't be going back there!!!

We purchased 2 three wheel bikes from FB Cyclery last year. Mark delivered the bikes to Little River and we've enjoyed riding them. I've had a problem using the twist gear shifter and I phoned the store to follow up on a call with Mark who said it was possible to change out the shifter. The alternative would be to move it to the other handlebar. I called back to ask a follow up question about the alternative shifter and got Tina on the phone. She told me they didn't have the alternative click shifter in stock, and couldn't get them. But --- I was free to try to get one. I asked

Spoke on the phone yesterday with someone who indicated they could help repair my bike. Today, apparently, it was inconvenient to do so. The elderly, maskless gentleman clearly recognizes his corner on the market. He would not even answer a question, let alone provide even the most simple repair or advice.

Only bike shop in the town. So Rude and bad service. Not good at work, my husband spent over $110 asking fix flat tire, just the same day it flat again. We went back shop immediately, told owner the situation and asked fix again. She first blamed on us, and then found actually was his work not finished, no apology. We like put our money on local stores to help local economy, but, this shop, NO! If I can buy anything on line, I never step in this store.
By the way, the 5 stars review byTina, is the owner wrote by herself!

I suspect that the level of service depends on the communication skills of the customer. Today I learned that Fort Bragg Cyclery works on E Bikes. They are certified to work on the electronics of Specialized E Bikes. They aren't set up to do the diagnostics on anything else. This makes sense since they sell Specialized E Bikes. The owner (who does bike repairs) explained that there are many (hundreds) of E Bikes on the market and each one is a bit different. Rear wheels with hub drives are more complicated to repair a flat on. He charges by the job and removing the rear wheel on a rear hub drive

"we don't care about you "
RUDE people
They sold me a chain that they said would work however I opened it in the store to check the length and it was short
They would not return the wrong chain even though unused with my receipt still on the desk
Then I said that sucks
Their quote " we don't care about you"
They were also rude to a special needs boy and told "we don't want that kind of person in our shop"
Please spend your hard earned money elsewhere
Dave's bike in Ukiah or catch a canoe
Unfortunately they are the only shop in town

We hadn't biked in many many years, but friends had biked along the ocean and we envied them, so we headed up to Fort Bragg Cyclery from Point Arena. We were helped into bike helmets and onto appropriate bikes and given helpful instructions on how to change gears and where to head by the owner. She showed us how to use the new-to-us gears, made sure our seats were properly adjusted and warned us not to grab for the front wheel brakes first -- all advice we needed 30 years after our last bike rides. As a result, we had a lovely 1.5 hour ride by the ocean and are planning future trips on bikes

Rudest service I've ever encountered at a bike shop--and that's saying a lot. The shop attendant wouldn't even let me finish a question without trying to mansplain and talk down to me. At one point, I had to just point blank ask him to let me finish a sentence. On top of that, they have very little selection and it's overpriced. You're better off ordering your parts from the Internet. At least there, you don't get treated like an idiot.

This is why i don't always like or trust these reviews. I almost didn't visit this establishment because of the negative feedback. Im glad i did. They were kind, welcoming and professional. I went in for a bike fitting. He was extremely knowledgeable and patient answering all of my questions. While i was there everyone that came in was treated the same way. All of the customers seemed happy and content with the service they were receiving. The shelves are packed with useful accessories with everything you may need. Go in and look at his guest book filled with remarks left by very happy costumers

While touring coast to coast rolled in here a few weeks ago with a friend who had broken a rear spoke. Went and grabbed a coffee when the mechanic/owner guy came and showed us that the rim had cracked beyond repair. He then called other nearby bike shops and sourced a replacement wheel (as he didn't have a disc compatible 700c in stock) and then gave us directions to the other shop where we sorted the replacement. Chatted with him about the route we had been on and local racing in the area, and he didn't ask for any payment even though he'd spent al least 20mins on the diagnoses. Brilliant, friendly

Owners maybe using a lot of drugs, taking advantage of being the only bike store in town.
I'm a local, I had a flat, and came here to buy a tube and tire iron. Super rude and condescending customer service, but eventually I got the part of I needed. I was working out back when the owners wife told me I was doing it wrong (I wasn't), took the tire iron out of my hands, snapped it in half, and cut a huge gouge in her arm. It looked pretty deep so I said something like Oh my god! Go fix your arm! But she ignored me, dripping blood all over my bike for a few minutes and grunting, and eventually put

OK I don't like to have to leave a negative review but here it is:
I bought my Fuji tour bike in on a Saturday complaining about my front wheel possibly having a bearing issue but I just knew it was squeaking, my chain snapping around and my gears not changing properly.
I asked Marc to take a few links from my chain and attach a quick link which didn't get done, I came in 3 and a half hours before closing time on a Saturday which I guess made it so my bike couldn't be looked over thoroughly. I was told that the front wheel issue could wait.
I was happy to have come in when I did as my rear Axel
