Services
The classic cafe that earned a worldwide reputation for good food and friendly service opened in 1929 on Main Street in Marble Falls, Texas. The Blue Bonnet Cafe moved to its current location on Hwy 281, blocks from Lake Marble Falls, in 1946. Contrary to common belief, the restaurant is named after a blue "bonnet" or hat, not the popular Texas wildflower.
This menu is for dine-in and curbside orders. If you are planning a curbside order, please call ahead to place your order at 830.693.2344 or 830.693.2444. Curbside orders can be picked up from our designated parking spots near the alley and Birdie's Market. Look for the curbside signs. We will not have servers monitoring the parking lot.

Make sure you get your favorites reserved for Thanksgiving. You don't even have to come inside to pick up! Preordered whole pies for the holiday are picked up outside at the tent set up near our curbside parking spots. During the week of Thanksgiving we make thousands, yes, thousands, of pies! Our bakers are some of the hardest working ladies we know.

Have been waiting to go here since we moved to central Texas back in 2008. My family and I finally got a chance to go... The food and pie was at best mediocre. Total let down. Word of advice, salt your food yall!!

Blue Bonnet Cafe has been around for around 100 years - and with good reason. The second you walk in, you are transported back to the better days- sassy (but kind) waitresses, a beautiful pie display, and locals chomping on their biscuits and creamy gravy.

The pancakes were fantastic, but I particularly loved, loved, loved the pillowy-tender biscuits. (You get TWO as a side with your eggs!)

This is a perfectly no-frills and very memorable breakfast stop. We came on a Saturday morning and almost every table was filled, but we lucked out by not having to wait.

Country cooking at its best! If you are in the mood for feel good, rich food, then this is your place. Big biscuits, Texas size toast, amazing omelettes, and the best pie around. ( lemon meringue is my favorite) But this cinnamon roll, this is the bomb! The wait staff is awesome , and the wait time is so quick!

Breakfast was delicious. My omelet was packed with meat and very tasty. My wife had the chicken fried chicken. She loved her lunch, however the star is a usual their pies. Chocolate and banana cream were the choices today and they didn't disappoint. Our server was very nice and helpful, but was a little scattered keeping up with all her tables. The food was delivered in less than 5 minutes!

I grew up eating here so I may be biased, but I love Blue Bonnet. Brought my college friends in from out of town and they really liked it as well. Expect a line out the door on weekends.

My go to is either the Biscuits and Gravy or the Cheese Enchiladas. The biscuits are fluffy and go so well with the pepper gravy. The enchiladas have a delicious brown sauce/gravy that I haven't seen anywhere else. If you get them as a part of the "Mexican dinner" the side taco have a really delicious, juicy beef.

The german chocolate pie is delicious, can't say I've ever ordered anything

The buttered spinach, fried okra, mashed potatoes and chicken fried steak were delicious. Not pictured are the cornbread and roll. Perfect to sop up all the sauce. Easy seating at the counter given it was just me. Quick turnaround for my meal too as they were packed and busy. Staff was nice and friendly. Looking forward to come back to try the pie!

Blue Bonnet Cafe never disappoints! I could eat this Pot Roast every day. You may ask... what could make this dish any better? That'd be a piece of pie. Thank you BBC for making my tummy smile!

Visiting from Austin arrived a little after 12pm two days before Christmas. We waited about 10 minutes for a booth. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak (8oz portion) and I ordered the club sandwich with chips. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent. 3 generations of employees work here. Definitely try if you are in the area. We also got a peach, pecan and fudge pie to take back home with us for Christmas.

On a Sunday, the line was stretched outside. When we got online, we were at the front door and it took us about 20-30 minutes to get seated, so it wasn't that bad. Been passing this place for over 15 years and always wanted to try it and I'm glad we finally did.

I had the country fried steak, eggs and hash browns. My wife had the pancakes, eggs and bacon. The food was hot, fresh, and tasted really good and homemade. Beats IHOP for sure.

The service was great and fast. Within 10 min, we had our order and it was a group of 4. Our server was attentive and friendly. No complaints whatsoever

A group of family members decided to make the scenic drive from Austin to Marble Falls to enjoy dinner at the cafe and the Christmas light walk on a Saturday evening. We'd planned to meet there at 5 for an early dinner, thinking we'd have no wait to be seated. Wrong! This place is clearly very popular.

Fortunately, some of us arrived early and let staff know we had a larger party, so the wait wasn't too long. Service was superb. Our waitperson got everything right, including lidded styrofoam cups for the kids and extra plates for sharing.

Based on the menu, the best items to

In Marble Falls visiting family and meeting some friends for lunch on Monday- decided to try Blue Bonnet.

Sorry left phone in car no food photos. Plenty of parking behind the restaurant. Arrived at 1 pm and had a short wait for a table for 4. There is always a wait to get seated Just how it is. :-)

Had ice tea - ordered our meals all from their specials. Two had pot roast which comes with 3 sides. They ordered the side salad green beans and carrots. Beans and carrots served hot properly cooked. Small salad but nice mix of greens.

One friend had the two piece fried catfish special his side

Haven't eaten here recently but I have eaten here MANY MANY times. My favorite is their breakfast. You can't go wrong with an omelette with biscuits and hash browns or just a stack of pancakes and hash browns. I don't order anything for breakfast WITHOUT the hash browns.

I'll say for lunch or supper get the Chicken Fried Steak with green beans and mashed potatoes...

And as always get a piece of pie and a cup of black coffee..

I took the scenic route from Ft. Worth to San Antonio and just HAD to stop at Bluebonnet on my way. It was late for lunch and I only had a bit of a wait. Once you get inside, it is just like every other old diner. Friendly waitresses and old squishy booths.
I ordered the BLT, which was good, but just a BLT. The fries tasted like they've spent some time in a freezer. I also ordered the coconut creme pie. It was my birthday and that is my second favorite. My first being rhubarb, but finding it without strawberries is impossible unless you're at my grammys house. Anywhoo, there was very

Bluebonnet is a great "greasy spoon" diner. Our family loves eating here. It's one of the few places everyone in our family can find good food that they love, so we all agree.

I'm partial to their breakfast items and pies.

Service is great. There can often times be a line out the door to get in but it moves quickly and the food is worth the wait.

We make the drive out to Marble Falls to enjoy Bluebonnet more often than we probably should. It's a great small town dining experience, and close to the city center. Ample parking, as well.

After hearing from some local people about the food and pies here, decided to give them a try. I was initially worried the place would be crowded on a Sunday morning. Arrived around 10:45 and there were about 10 people standing in line outside the restaurant. This was a little uncomfortable on a Texas summer day, but wasn't too bad. After about 20 minutes, made it inside the door, then continued to wait in the inside line for about 10 minutes. Once inside, the wait was pretty quick while reading the numerous news articles and awards they've won throughout the years. Right before arriving at the

My parents told us to stop here, it’s been years since they came here and told us to try. Glad we did. We were lucky and got there before the rush, thankfully. Our server promptly greeted us and took our drink order. Wife had the blueberry pancake filled with blueberries and bacon, delicious! I had the western omelette and added bacon, hash browns and Texas toast, gosh that omelette was huge and the Texas toast was thick. Overall a excellent breakfast

Best pie ever! They had so many different pies we couldn’t decide on what to get. We ordered three pies to eat at the restaurant and they were absolutely amazing! The pie was so good we had to order a few more to take home with us! The pie was just that good! It is in a very nice location surrounded by beautiful hills and scenery. Each time I am in a short distance I will come by and eat more of this amazing pie.

These pies ARE DELICIOUS!

I got the peach pie. Normally I'm not a dessert person but this pie is beyond amazing. The peach filing is so fresh and it's sweet without being sickly. The crust is the real winner though, it's so flaky and melts in your mouth. Plus no soggy bottoms, Mary Berry would approve :).

I can't wait to come back and try their other pies!!

TLDR: This place has been a staple of Hill Country for more than 90 years and counting. There's a reason it's lasted this long.

The Blue Bonnet Cafe's probably the best experience I've had in a 'diner' style restaurant. The crowd skews older, in no small part because dining at the Bonnet has become a kind of family tradition for local families.

I can see why, as I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak, along with the Soup of the Day (Chicken Tortilla), mashed potatoes in gravy, and corn on the cob. The service was friendly, and the food came out at warp speed - something

I love the concept of how to retrieve the menu! I ordered an Open Face Roast Beef Sandwich and hubby got Fried Catfish. Our server was very friendly and helpful with making a decision for our sides. The order was out within 10 minutes and everything was cooked. It was fast! Everything tasted good and if you need more seasoning like salt, ask for it.
