All About Chimneys
My name is Stanley Mattatall, owner and operator of Baltimore Chimneys. I have been in the home improvement / roofing / gutters and chimney business since I was 16. I have worked for a few different companies doing this type of work and have learned from some of the best. I was manager of a local gutter installation/repair company as well as a local roofing company and a local home improvement company.

I also was the main installer for All About Chimneys for several years and learned everything I know about chimneys from the owner Tom Dipaula. He will surely be missed. I am licensed, fully insured and bonded. We will beat any written proposal. Since I do not have much overhead, I can give you the best price possible.

There is just something about the ambiance of a fire burning that helps to make a house a home, however it also can be a danger to your family if not properly maintained! While enjoying the comforts of a fireplace, it's also a good idea to know about the different aspects to them:. We don't just restrict our services to inspecting and cleaning your chimney; we provide chimney installations and fireplace repairs as well.
Chimneys have traditionally been built from brick, and they also frequently contain an interior tile liner. The liner assists with the flow of flue gases and helps prevent creosote, the black residue created from wood burning, from leaching into the pores of brick and mortar. Although liners have been used for many years, older chimneys may only have brick construction.
A fireplace can be a truly marvelous thing. They are usually the centerpiece of any living room they happen to be in. A fireplace provides ambiance, warmth, and mood, all while lowering your heating costs. But, to have one you must also have a big hole in your roof. This is where the potential for trouble comes in.
When chimneys get old or don't receive annual maintenance they can quickly deteriorate and create hazardous conditions. Cracked tiles and collapsing masonry can vent hazardous gases or even fire and embers in to your home. Homeowners faced with a damaged chimney interior can choose to take the time and expense needed to tear down the existing chimney or you can reline your chimney with a stainless steel or aluminum insert from Baltimore Chimneys.
