Dr. Michael K. Nunn oversees the activities at the clinic. He is a Board Certified Psychiatrist who holds a Masters of Science Degree in Clinical and Counseling Psychology.

Dr. Nunn is an Osteopathic Physician with board certification in Allopathic Psychiatricty and has been practicing Osteopathic psychiatry for over ten years. Chronic pain is pain in the body lasting longer than six months. Chronic pain can be mild to excruciating and many times continuous. The most common kinds of chronic pain vary from headaches, joints, backaches, and neck pain. Long lasting physical pain can lead to anxiety and depression. Community Wellness Center offers several different ways to deal with chronic pain.
The mission of Community Wellness Center is to provide access to comprehensive weight loss program with sound guidance, nutritional and fitness counseling, strategies for achieving and maintaining a healthy weight, and empower an individual to achieve optimal health. Provide medical guidance for weight management using the combinations of medications, diet, exercise, and emotional support.
Cold Laser Therapy is used to reduce pain, inflammation and increase wound healing. Cold Laser Therapy is a non-invasive procedure. This therapeutic procedure doesn't require patients to take any medications. Many of Dr. Nunn's patients prefer this procedure because they do not like to take many medications.

A New Bern pain management physician pled guilty to health care fraud and money laundering Monday in U.S. District Court.
Dr. Michael K. Nunn, doing business as Community Wellness Center (CWP) in New Bern at McCarthy Boulevard and also in Winterville and Morehead City, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Terrence W. Boyle. The court fined the corporation $700,000 ordered Nunn to pay restitution of $297,215 to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Veteran’s Administration.
Nunn was placed on four years of probation.
