The Conner family has been in the flooring business since 1968. My father founded Conner's Floor Covering in Livingston, TN almost 50 years ago. Carpet and vinyl floor covering was the extent all those decades ago. In 1984 at age 18 I bought an old floor sanding machine and began to re-sand old floors.
The demand for hardwood floor boomed in the early 90's so we were positioned for the growth. Many things have changed in 32 years at Conner Bros. In the beginning, my brother and I handled all aspects of the business from measurements, estimating, installing and finishing. Today my three sons run most aspects of the business along with my wife, mother, father, mother in law, brother, nephews, cousins, and daughter in law.

A little known fact about Conner Bros. is our commercial work. For years we have sold, installed, and serviced small and large commercial projects from apartment complexes, healthcare facilities, offices, resorts, aircrafts, and luxury boats. Our team was asked to coordinate the installation of the wood floor in 2 Extreme Makeover Homes. Chattanooga, TN in 2011 and Knoxville, TN in 2012. In Chattanooga, the family had a 7 year old boy who had a degenerative bone disease and had multiple broken bones. Our team supplied 14 installers in conjunction with 6 more from the Chattanooga area installed 2700 sq.

After visiting several stores we chose Conner Bros to purchase and install hardwood in our entire home. They have a great selection of quality products and their showroom has many large areas of sample flooring so you can see what it will look like. They spent all the time we needed to select our new floors and were generous in allowing us to take samples home to lay out several times. The project was slated for late September but they had a cancellation and were able to move us up to late August which was fantastic. As for the installers, I cannot say enough about the professionalism, work ethic

Connor Bros did a kitchen and about 3500 SF of flooring for us and the product and service were absolutely perfection. They also reconstructed stairs for us and perfectly matched the flooring. They were a delight to work with during the whole process. To give you an example - we had gone to several kitchen designers who spewed out everything from a good to a "you gotta be kidding" design. At Conner Brothers, they said, let us do a design for you with an island (we wanted an island, noone else thought we could incorporate that)....then, if you want we can also do the design with a

The product they sell is good although when you get the "B" grade price, it is definitely "B" grade wood. a lot of the tongues were partially missing on the pieces. My only disappointment was trying to return some unused material. When I purchased it I bought enough for my entire house (2600 ft^2). They recommended buying 10 - 15 % extra for the loss you will incur when installing it which I did. I asked the owner then if I could return any unused material and he said no problem. I told him it might be a while as I was remodeling the entire house myself, again, no problem
