Services
Lake Travis Scuba provides transportation to a variety of dive sites on Lake Travis aboard GIANT STRIDE, a 30-foot Pontoon Boat customized for scuba diving. He has been a certified diver since 1988, achieved technical diving certification with training through PADI Tec 50, and is a seasoned PADI MSDT/Instructor for a wide range of specialities including Boat Diver, Enriched Air, Underwater Navigation, search and recovery and more.
Two-tank (four hour) Excursions to a variety of dive sites around Lake Travis, including Starnes Island, Wreck Alley and Oasis Wall. See our schedule. Arrange for any style of diving: Deep Diving, Night Diving, Navigation, and Exploratory Dives. Special Dive Events and Night Dives may be scheduled for any day of the week.
With every dive trip on board The Giant Stride comes the opportunity to find treasures lost to the depths of Lake Travis. Some of the items are returned to their owners. For others, they become trophies for the diver's that located them. Lake Travis Scuba keeps a log of all the items found and what the estimated value of the haul would have been (new).
Lake Travis Scuba offers full training and certification from beginner through advanced, all specialties, sidemount, solo, decompression plus full technical diving and American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR/AED/First Aid (for adults, children and infants). Courses are worked around your schedule and prices include books plus charters (up to 4 dives) aboard Giant Stride - it's pretty much all inclusive.
Have you dropped a personal or valuable item such as class rings, keys, prescription glasses, wallets or drones into Lake Travis or entangled your anchor on an entrapment on the lake bottom? Our divers are ready to help with search and recovery efforts to retrieve your lost item or free your anchor from the bottom.

Robert is awesome, incredible service and all round professionalism. I work at a boat rental company so stuff always seems to find its way to the bottom of the lake -would recommend this company every time.

My husband dropped his iPhone in Lady Bird Lake and Robert was able to retrieve it. The water at dock was about 18ft deep and the phone was under for over 2 hours. I’m shocked it’s working perfectly fine. Thanks again!

Very complicated to get a return call. Bring everything you need. They provide nothing including a return call. If anything happens don’t expect any kinda refund. They will refer you to their lawyer. There is no sign to figure out where you are going, and the boat will leave you if you aren’t on time. The owner likes to message you in a harassing way, started talking about my wife. Even though I don’t have a wife. I have been diving for years, I am a dive master and would never expect to or have ever treated a customer like this. Avoid at all costs.

After dropping my phone, driver's license and credit card into the water while getting out of my kayak at the dock, I knew I needed help. Robert Weiss of Lake Travis Scuba answered my call and headed out first thing in the morning. Professional, courteous and friendly, he found all of my items. He was so nice and even shared a video of his dive. I'm traveling, so the license was essential to getting me home. Highly recommend this service.

Robert is an absolute savior! I messaged Robert at 5:45 am and he contacted by 7am and met us at the Lake at 11:30am and by 12:30 he had recovered my keys and money clip. He was nice enough to share several great experiences from his work! Highly recommend Robert! He truly loves helping people! I am eternally grateful!

During a recent trip I had completed my open water diving certification. I had such a good time I was very eager to learn more about some of the different skills.

After searching the local area I found Lake Travis Scuba. I contacted Robert and he assured me that they would be able to accommodate me at a beginner's level.

The dives are all off of the Giant Stride. It allows for many dive sites options. The boat is able to carry 8 divers at a time along with the captain & 1st mate.

Overall I very happy with my experience and hope to get out as much as possible.

It is not everyday that you come across people that are truly enthusiastic about what they do. We had a great time diving Lake Travis this last Saturday morning, and Robert and Danny only made the experience even better. They probably do that every week, but they were still so excited about showing us around, explaining everything about the dive sites, and telling us many of the funny stories that happened aboard the Giant Stride. And the treasure hunting at Starnes Island was definitely worth it. I will definitely be coming back!

This was my time second diving with this company in 4 years. It was a great dive experience and I will be back. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a great diving experience to use this company! Visibility was great today on the lake all the way to 70 ft. Bring a wetsuit, my 3mm was barely getting the job done.

Thank you Robert!!! Me and my bf went out to visit the new Waterloo adventure park on lake Travis and the bf lost his new Apple Watch. As soon as it happened I called Robert and he went above and beyond to try to help us out. He was able to retrieve the watch for us in no time. I can't express enough how grateful we are. He is truly a master at what he does.

Worth every penny!! I lost my brand new iphone 7 plus in the lake, it was too deep "12ft," and I thought it's gone but not according to Bob Weiss, I called him and he showed up earlier than expected....not even 5 minutes and he got my phone back!!!
The guy is really cool, he made the whole experience so much fun, Highly recommended!!

This operation is a professional class act! The ability to go diving all over Lake Travis, safely and quickly, is a great opportunity that is only provided by Lake Travis Scuba.
Anywhere else, a 2 tank charter will cost you over $100.00. The price is more than reasonable, and the trip is awesome, regardless of which of the many dive sites that LTS goes to!
Always fun, always safe, and the best in-land dive experience in Texas.

I dove with this guy once. Seemed nice. Knew everything about the areas we were going to dive, leading to a great dive. Then I got added on Facebook (he asked that we find him, so he could tag us in photos). That's when things took a turn. He's crazy about anti-Clinton/Muslim-Obama stuff and Trump being the only answer. I'm all about supporting your candidate. But he just spews crazy conspiracy stuff. Then he took to insulting anyone that had any differing opinion. One girl already dropped off his page (or he removed her/her comment) because she, "just wanted to dive

One of my favorite ways to unwind at the end of the work week is Robert's Friday evening dive. $25 gets you a spot on the boat; that evening's divers vote on the dive site. My favorite is to hunt for sunglasses around Starnes Island. Great operation - very safe. As an instructor, I always give my students the option to do their certifying dives off the Giant Stride.

I finished up my Advanced Open Water Diver course aboard the Giant Stride. The captain was a cool guy, knows the lake well as well as the people on it (knew the cops and a couple other boaters). He also paid close attention to our safety and was always ready for us when we would resurface. He had a collection of sunglasses that the divers have found while on his boat - when we got to shore at the end of the day he gave out the glasses to the kids that were playing on the beach. Pretty sweet of him I think.
Great price, great service. I would recommend this business to loved ones.

Again!!! Fantastic job. Robert you have a great company and do a wonder job making the dive trips memorable. My 16 yo son enjoyed the trip last year so much that another trip year was a must. My friends that I know in the area I have sent your way for certification. As well as friends from the Houston area to come up for boat dives!!!
