Mealeys Gift & Sauna Shop
Mealey's is a small business located in the heart of Ely, Minnesota, first opened in 1987 by Jim Mealey and Terry Murphy. They are dedicated to providing customers with quality gifts and decor at an affordable price.

Their business has since flourished into two buildings in one location: The Gift & Sauna shop, featuring an array of gift items as well as sauna stoves and accessories, while our Gallery features American made and Fair Trade goods such as jewelry, pottery, home & cabin furnishings, lighting and more. These buildings are separated by Terry's stunning flower garden, complete with a relaxing goldfish pond.

I love Mealey's. I make sure we stop by every time we're in Ely! Sure missed it on Sunday when we were there!

Love the stores usually. You should put somewhere on the home page that you can order online and pick up at the store, instead of only mentioning it on the checkout page. Found a deer cribbage board and set of placemats I wanted, got to the store around 3 on Saturday 4/17 and the gallery was closed. Had i known i coul have done everything online and picked it up i would have. Instead I had to look elsewhere. Very disappointed.

Great little store with lots of treasures. You can find everything from stuffed animals and children's books to handmade stoneware. Ornaments, kitchen towels and sauna accessories. Wide variety of little trinkets. Cute store! Definitely worth a stop.

A lovely little gift shop, with something for everyone! Souvenir shoppers and gift hunters can find something in every price range, low to high. Lots of unique, handmade treasures, also soaps, cards, mugs, jewelry, furniture, you name it, it's probably here! Every time I'm in Ely, Mealey's is one of my main stops. So much fun to browse! The service is always stellar. Great prices and friendly staff, how can you go wrong? Check it out, you won't be disappointed!

Great place for themed gifts, cards, tokens of affection. Open year-round, not just during tourist season.

We found this gift shop exploring around the city of Ely. It had lots of unique items and Ely gifts we could not find at any of the other Ely shops. It has a section dedicated to soaps and sauna stuff. It became our favorite gift shop in Ely.

The store on the right is pretty kitschy but the store on the left is definitely worthy a stop! Some really cool furniture and nick nacks.

I wish I had a cabin to decorate with the stylish arts and crafts furniture, Tiffany-inspired lamps and stained glass pieces at Mealey's. It truly is a treat to browse this store and its thoughtfully chosen items; it almost feels curated like a small museum where you happen to be able to buy the displays. In addition to the items listed above, the selection of pottery was also quite beautiful. My mother-in-law was captivated by the jewelry and my husband loved the books. Definitely something for everyone here!

My favorite store in Ely! It's a must see and I spent nearly 2 hours perusing. They've got a lot of unique items and the quality is excellent - not the cheap plastic, gawdy, fall-apart-stuff seen at most tourist shops. I got some beautiful copper bracelets, sturdy Amish lawn furniture, and homemade sauna head and knee rests. I'd go back for the local pottery, the metal plant hangars, and get some books I've never seen elsewhere. The sound of the water pond was also a nice touch.

Oh I wish I had a sauna (pronounced SOW_nah, not SAW-nah, you amateurs!!!). This shop reminds of one of the main reasons i love going home and visiting the Northwoods. The Sauna room at Mealey's even smells like a sauna, full of birch and cedar, that wonderful CLEAN smell. You can pick up authentic sauna buckets, Finnish soaps, oils, thermometers so when you've had that 12-pack and you've been on the top bench for three hours you know when its time to go jump in the snow or lake! The rest the shop is for the tourists and 612ers.
