Northside Welding
In 1975, Dee Wheeler, with a personal desire to provide service to the community, opened a small mobile welding service in Paul, Idaho, to meet the needs of the farmers on the "North Side". With a single service truck and welder, he spent his days responding to calls throughout the area. Long evenings were spent along with his father, Mearl, pouring floor, laying cinderblock, and welding roof trusses, as construction of their shop took place.

In February of 1976, Northside Welding Service officially opened its doors for business. Mearl had brought his family to the Paul area in 1959, leaving behind a blacksmith shop in Arco, Idaho. Dee graduated from Minico High School in Rupert, Idaho in 1962 and thereafter started working for Joe Bauer (Bauer Welding and Equipment).
Services
The Northside Welding Water Saver Bar (hereafter referred to as the NSW Watersaver) is designed to fill a variety of water conservation needs. Similar to the concept of the Dammer Diker built by AE, it creates pockets to minimize runoff. However, unlike the AE diker which has a fixed position, the Northside Welding Water Saver has adjustable arms to accommodate different soil conditions from sandy soil to heavy clay.
Custom built Hydraulic Reset V-Rippers to suit your needs. There are two Hydraulic Shank options available depending on your needs, 1" and 1 1/4". Chrome edge or hard-faced winged points are available to eliminate ground compaction at lowest point of shank. All shanks are high tensile steel, with chrome leading edges to maximize shank life.
Northside Welding offers a wide variety of help with the consumable components of your beet equipment. Over time, the spindle on the beet strut can become flattened, causing an undesirable opening at the pinch point of the wheel. With the removal of the wheels, hubs and bearings, the original pinch point can be obtained on the spindle.
The main exposed cover is made from galvanized steel, allowing these pump bonnets to keep your pump in the shade, as well as protect it from your sprinklers without rusting. The frame clamps directly to the pump motor itself, and the top removes easily. The top is also vented to help with heat release.
Most American manufacturers of roll-over reset plows have stopped production in lieu of the less expensive "switch" plow. Unfortunately, for farmers burdened with rocky ground, this isn't a practical solution. After years of replacing roll over stems, reinforcing three points, and adding additional bottoms, Northside Welding has now added a rollover reset plow to our manufacturing line.
