In 2002 High Maintenance settled seamlessly into what was once a speakeasy, becoming a beauty landing place. With the serenity of a destination spa, you walk into a style haven that warms you up from the inside, and are treated to thorough, specific solutions you will only find close to home by an esthetician you've entrusted, enlisted and agreed to collaborate with.

60 mins | Our signature facial is truly all-encompassing & provides something for every skin type. This facial begins with a unique triple exfoliation blend containing carob flour gommage followed by an AHA & enzyme super peel. Light extractions clear the skin's impurities before a relaxing facial massage & customized masque are applied.
Waxing doesn't need to be painful & we make every effort to ensure that you get the results you're looking for with a process that is comfortable. We start by creating a protective barrier between your skin & the wax by applying a layer of soothing oil. Next, our lavender & azulene infused hard wax is applied by our trained estheticians.
After spending years working and studying in every aspect of beauty, from beauty school to high-end skin care salons, from herbs and natural remedies to midwifery, I opened High Maintenance Skin Care in 2002. High Maintenance has been noted for its quality skincare services in publications such as Allure, Lucky, Seattle Metropolitan, The Seattle Times, and American Spa.

I’ve been coming to High Maintenance for years, probably 6 years. I’ve had facials, Brazilians, full leg waxes, etc. I tried cancelling my appointment within the 24 hour window—which is something I have not done in the 6 years I’ve been going to HM—and I am required to pay the full charge of the Brazilian ($70) in order to reschedule. I respect the time and schedule of the wonderful employees of HM, but sometimes life comes up in a way you can’t predict. I hope HM changes this policy, especially for customers who have been customers for so long and who do not make it a practice to cancel

This is the ONLY place that I TRUST to do my waxing and skincare services. Every esthetician is extremely good and knowledgeable at what they do. I have been going for years and will remain loyal to High Maintenance. I highly recommend.

They don’t send you reminders of when your next appointment would be. I schedule once in three weeks. They are pretty much available in short notice so it’s my mistake to have booked appointment to show patronage.
They charge you full fees for not showing up which is ok. But this was my first time doing so and I use their services twice every month, buy their products and expect them to have gone about this in a nicer manner. The one who spoke to me over phone (I think Brenna) was cocky and arrogant asking for my card details. I promise bad review was not for the money lost but the way they

Saturday July 29,2017. I gave a call to this spa with the intention of being a customer and to speak directly with the master aesthetician about product development. My call was received by receptionist Briann. She is and was disrespectful , rude , arrogant and by far she feels she has entitlement to the positions she holds as a receptionist. I was dismissed, rushed, interrupted and she blatantly told me she had no time for this call, she hung up in my face twice and both times I request to speak with the manager or owner and she hung up in my face.. she kept interrupting me while I demanded why

While visiting Seattle for a conference, I decided on a whim to go for my first Brazilian wax today. They were wonderful in taking my same day reservation and Christina was AMAZING! So very nice and made what could have been a nerve wracking experience a very pleasant one. Hands down worth all of the 5 star reviews!!!

Everyone from the receptionist to all of the waxing girls are incredible. They offer you water or tea when you walk in and it's super relaxing. For my first time, I went to Naomi: she's the owner and is phenomenal but the other girls are good too!
