The ACT2 "Marine Piranha" system has exceeded the 2016 USCG/IMO MEPC 227(64) requirements for both Nitrogen and Phosphorus showing a 95% reduction of Nitrogen and a Phosphorus reduction of 98.6% when only 80% reduction is required to meet Section 4.2 for Alaska and Baltic Sea use.This has been the case since the design of our first unit in 2008.

ACT2 Technologies was founded by Capt. Craig Tafoya and Alfredo Teran (deceased). Teran was a successful NASA Engineer who developed several uses of Ozone for the Kennedy Space Center. After leaving NASA, Teran, along with Louis Mangiacapra, developed biological systems to digest organic waste to pure water using biological and Ozone processes.
There are many systems on the market today with pricing from low to high. When shopping for a system you must compare not only the initial cost, but what the system can do, and for how long it is designed to do it. Changing one system out for another in an existing vessel is not an easy task. Therefore, it is wise to look into the longevity of the components as well as the ease of acquiring replacement parts.
We have provided the US Army with a totally self contained shower/restroom facility. THESE UNITS WOULD BE THE PERFECT SOLUTION FOR THE RESIDENTS, WORKFORCE, AND RESCUERS IN HAITI AND JAPAN, or the NEXT disaster! The gray water produced from the showers is cleaned and recycled as is the black water which in turn is re-used for re-flushing.
