About Us Report

Food City was born from the El Paso community, to serve the El Paso community. Our tale began over fifty years ago in 1964, when Jose Santos opened his first store, El Rancho Mart, on South Stanton Street. He soon outgrew that store and opened our flagship store, Food City, on Alameda Avenue. At first, Food City shared this location with the Aaronson Brothers department store called "Big Star."

Found what a friend wanted at the price I wanted to pay. Very happy I went. Definitely not used to all the circles so you don't have to stop, so I made a boo-boo and got honked at. Will try harder during daylight hours so I don't get lost!

If you want delicious (like home made) tamales you better come here. They are made daily, both red and green. Very sabroso (tasty)!! If I are used to bland food don't come here for tamales! These are savory with a little heat (red), the green are a bit spicy for ya'll whimps!!) 😆 lol

The gentleman who works at Ace hardware area was very helpful and courteous. Having a grocery store and a hardware store in the same building is a great convenience. I was in and out of the store in minutes.

Great selection of very reasonably priced meats and dinner combos already matched up so you don't have to walk all around the store. Products from both sides of the border. And its never been crowded.

This place is the best to buy groceries and they have specials. This place is not too crowded it is very organized and neat. Also the line to get burritos is long but they are low on staff so it is completely understandable why the line to burritos is long.

I like them better than Food King. Always great sales on Milk, Cheese and Produce. Extensive meat offerings. Great bakery and cooked food selection. Great burritos. Always have enough registers open so the lines are not long. Friendly and helpful staff.
Such a + to have the Ace Hardware store located inside as well.
Lots of parking. Never have to look hard to find a space.

Id like to let you know Robert from the hardware area is doing an exceptional job! I was browsing the aisle and he approached me in a very welcoming and friendly demeanor to ask me if I needed assistance. At that time I didn't as I thought I knew where the item i was looking for was located. After I couldn't find it he appeared out of no where and I asked him if he knew where those magnetic hide a key black containers were at. He took me to the aisle and the product was out of stock. Robert mentioned he would have some by Monday. I continued my shopping and he looked for me specifically

This review is for Food City's Barbacua from the deli. They sell some really good Barbacua and while you are at the store pick up some chile del árbol to prefect the taco.
