David Young founded the company in 1983 after spending 4 years managing another independent audio specialty store. Over the thirty plus years, he has assembled an extremely talented group of staff, many have that have been with the company for over two decades. While his passion is music and movies, he continues to explore other technologies that save people time, money and make them more secure.

About 10 to 12 years ago I had The Sound Room set up an entertainment system in my living room. Nice Plasma TV, nice A/V Receiver, B & W bookshelf speakers as well as a Blu Ray player and a Roku device.
This past September the TV failed. We replaced it with a beautiful 4k Sony that Jim Kuhlmeyer helped me pick out. They installed it the next week and everything was great. I then realized the receiver was not 4K and so I upgraded to an Integra DTX 3.4 receiver. I also upgraded my Roku device.
Slightly less than 3 months after purchase the receiver failed. Scratching sounds coming from the left

Rob and JR installed our universal remote, new TV and upgraded our sound system. They were efficient, friendly, informative……and it was all done with a sense of humor. Arrived on time, moved our old TV to the garage so we didn't have to do that ourselves. Very accommodating when we ran into an issue. Very knowledgeable and helpful when we had questions about how to operate the new TV. Set up our cable sign ins for us. We would recommend the technicians that came to our house.

Just upgraded my theater room setup to 4k Sony projector and 7.1.2 system. All done impeccably! Their pricing was exactly what I found on Amazon (including the 5% discount) and other websites - and you get knowledgable and professional advice to go with it! Not only that, you can count on them being there 10 years from now if you need something. I'm not going anywhere else.

We LOVE our new Samsung art frame TVs and Sonos system. I can't believe we waited so long to make this dream come true. The Sound Room team made it so easy! Andy and Tony helped us choose the best options for our home. JR and James did a great job with installation. They arrived on time, worked together to resolve an unexpected install issue, patiently answered all of our questions and left everything neat and clean. Jim, our sales rep was very helpful in finding what we needed to accomplish our goals. He even came to our home to make sure our selections would work in our home. Then when our techs, JR and Mike came for the install, they could not have been better. They explained everything, and made sure everything was working. The guys were neat, thorough and kind. Never again. The quote and timing of service would change depending on which employee we spoke with. They would go days with no communication, which would force us to call them to spur things along. We ultimately ended up paying over $500 (from an initial quote of "$400 at most") for them to cut a hole in drywall and run an hdmi cable. Probably best to look elsewhere for your home theater needs.

I've bought a lot of stuff from The Sound Room, including B&W speakers, a slew of McIntosh amps, processors and turntables and have never had a disappointing experience. Can't beat their installation and maintenance department. Ask for Dave Sherfy, an honest, ethical and experienced pro who will huddle with Mike Swisher, their top installation/technical maven and you couldn't be in better hands. Once they figure out what you really want, the rest is simple. Thank God for these people!

I purchased 2 Sony TV's and a Sonos System from the Sound Room in December 2016 and the installation was flawless. However 4 months later one of the TV's quit working and Sony wanted to replace the TV with a reconditioned model. It seems this model had some circuit board issue's and the reconditioned units were how Sony wanted to solve these issue's. Andy Hauck the VP of operations at The Sound Room asked me how they could make it right and I asked for a new TV they installed the new unit the very next morning and said they would take

I was looking at this outfit for a repair of a vintage Marantz receiver. I called twice and spoke to the receptionist at the repair center who stated I would get a call back with a quote /instructions. Two calls..... 2 1/2 weeks and never heard a peep out of them. There are plenty of vintage repair experts out there (see Audiokarma.org) so I moved on
I understand the repair facility (Computronics) was purchased by the Sound Room and everything I hear about the Sound Room's core business is fantastic....can't say the same for the repair arm of the business.

I purchased equipment from the Sound Room for a home theater system including B&W speakers, Dolby 7.1, and a 110" screen with Sony projector. If you go here, ask for Mike Swisher. He is not only knowledgeable, he is easy to work with once you set up a budget for the project. They can provide as much of the project, or as little based on the way you want to handle the installation.

Actually stumbled across this place while visiting my son in chiropractic school. The lack of high end shops that have gone by the wayside are countless. When you find one and they don't treat you like some troll that makes the experience most enjoyable. My man Jon knows his stuff. I've been collecting high end gear for 25 years and I needed some tweaking of the systems at two different locations. He gave me a great demo, did not put my current equipment down so I could buy new and better stuff. He worked with my systems to make them more advanced and increase convenience . He knows analogue
