I got a flat tire on my morning commute. Luckily this happened real close to Roberts. The guys were real friendly and offered real, quick and professional help. They replaced the tire in around ten minutes, reset the breaks and offered much-needed advice about day-to-day maintenance. I will be coming back!

I bought a used bike that needed fixed up and I brought it here. I paid a little more than I wanted, but I think they did a really great job and I feel safe riding my bike. Also, I noticed a chirping/squeaking sound while riding after they worked on it, and I brought my bike in within the 45 day window to have them take a look and they oiled the thing that was making the noise.
I saw some reviews saying they're rude, but I think they're just understaffed and just kind of quiet people working there. My receipt said that Carlos worked on my bike, and he was friendly to me! I'll continue coming here

I had my road bike tuned up here a few months ago. Riding has been very smooth ever since. Pricing was very fair. I had rode my bike regularly in college, but it had been tucked away in a garage for a few years after I graduate. Rides just like it used to.
My partner bought a used bike recently and went here to get it into riding shape, they did a great job with her bike as well. When the chain was squeaking, we took it back and they had the issue corrected in just a few minutes.

The best. I rediscovered this neighborhood gem when I walked in with a flat on my brand new custom bike. They fixed it right there for $30 and in 15 minutes. They also did a great tune-up on my old Trek years ago. Super friendly and the kind of neighborhood business you want to support. Look for the iconic orange Peugeot sign.

I messaged Roberts Cycle on Yelp about an issue with my breaks and they messaged back right away. They told me about their free bike check-up and their special deal on bike tune-ups. I did a little research and their tune-up deal was comparable if not more reasonable that other places both near me and in Skokie. Since they are in my neighborhood I went over, dropped off my bike and they gave me an estimate. They got in touch with me exactly when they said they would, gave me a solid estimate and before I knew it they had texted me letting me know that the service for my bike had been completed

I’ve been here twice and both times it seemed as if I was invisible. I walked in and was not greeted or spoken to by anyone. The person working literally walked around me and said not a word. Then a very nice white woman walks in and he greeted her and let her know that he would be with her shortly. If you’re black just go somewhere else they clearly don’t think we ride bikes or spend money. And they don’t care for our business.

It feels amazing to support a local business that truly values servicing the community. I was thrilled to stop by and get my bike tuned up and loved on. Both gentlemen were professional and friendly. I believe one of them was the owner. He was seeking ways to make my repairs more affordable and not trying to rip me off! I definitely took note of that! My bike was repaired in less time then mentioned. I definitely would be back!

I’m not sure what these reviews claiming a friendly staff are referring to. They’re very understaffed and it took 5 minutes of being in the store to even be greeted by someone. I had called about a repair earlier in the day and the person who answered was very rude, and was even ruder when I came in person to drop off my bike. I had a lot of anxiety going to get my bike repaired as I’m not very knowledgeable, but this shop made me feel stupid and was very unhelpful. I chose to not give them my money that day and will not be trying again in the future.

This is the only review I have made (and probably will make), but I really wanted to let people know that the service at Roberts Cycle Shop was outstanding. The honesty whilst assessing required repairs, the perfect work and the fair price were really everything I had hoped for.
I picked my road bike up today, went for around 25 miles and it is running as smooth as never before. Super happy about that!
Thank you for the good work, I really appreciate it!

Brought my bike here today with a slow leak in my inner tube. They fixed it same day! I checked multiple bike shops in the area, and one in Evanston had my bike for 2 weeks just to change my tire and seat. This was my first time here and they were all very friendly. This is a pandemic and everyone should show more patience and grace. These guys are working hard and doing their best, and I'm a satisfied customer!

Great place to get a quick fix for bike! I had a crank arm I needed replaced on my road bike and the replacement was done in about 15 minutes. I was expecting to have to drop my bike off, but there are a few mechanics working in the shop to speed things up. They had mentioned some parts are hard to come by now, and so I would recommend calling ahead before. These guys will definitely be my go to group for repairs.

Complete garbage. Guy told me he overhauled my entire bike and charged me nearly three hundred dollars. Here's the funny part: I'm a veteran bike messenger of seven years and worked on my own ride for just as long. I got sick of working on my own horse and thought it'd be nice to grab a pro... Within three months of the "overhaul" both my brake lines snapped, in traffic. I told these clowns what had happened and they claimed "foreign components are unreliable".
So why source from them?? For one.
Dude wanted to charge me fifty dollars to replace the failed brake

As a newer Rogers Park resident, but an oldie in age, as well as my 1997 Trek 730 Model, that I recently had Roberts Cycle "wield" their hand to "liven up" the old gal . . . I must say, how impressive the long-standing, reputable history, years of love, sweat and hard labor make Roberts Cycle "zing" with ongoing, satisfied old and new customers, alike. I sensed the lingering "savor" over endless classic bicycles, of years gone by. It is almost a museum, of every make and model of bicycles, ever designed. My 1997 Trek received the works, from a solid

Amazing, affordable service and advice from experienced bike mechanics (dare I say old-timers?) that rather help you fix, modify, repair your existing bike as opposed to selling you a new one like many other bike shops try to do. Good for your wallet and the environment!
They also have a great selection of bikes and gear but I've only gone here for help / repairs. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff who treat you with respect even if you have "stupid" questions.
Bring your bike here and help keep local gems like this alive!

Owner was just came off as rude and in a hurry. Bought a tube it was defected I guess went back to see if I could exchange or something and since I installed myself and nicked the tube not even punctured I could not get it exchanged owner said no worker said he wanted to help.
Had to buy another tube elsewhere. Won't go back.

Their mechanics cannot do anything beyond simple repairs. They seemed to be baffled by my 2009 Jamis road bike. Basically they had my bike for a week (despite being told it would be a couple of days) and when I finally called them I was told the mechanic who knows how to work on road bikes wouldn't be in until Thursday. ANY bike mechanic should have been able to work on the issue I was having. The guy said the mechanic that was there that day could look at it, but I did not get a warm feeling from the sound of the guy's voice.
I ended up being quoted $260 for replacement parts (that they could
