Our experienced attorneys include a former Georgia Administrative Law Judge, former Department of Community Health attorneys and a current part-time Gwinnett County Magistrate Judge. Jeyaram & Associates' legal team has extensive experience working with individuals and healthcare entities. Collectively, our attorneys have more than 100 years of experience.
Mr. DJ Jeyaram provides legal services to a wide variety of healthcare providers including physicians, hospitals, nursing homes, Medicaid waiver providers as well as special needs families. Mr. Jeyaram concentrates in healthcare regulatory matters, primarily in administrative appeals, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, and program integrity audits and investigations.
Ashley Shattles is of counsel and the mother of two boys and a rare disease advocate. She provides legal services to families who have children with special needs, like her son, with issues related to wills, special needs trusts, estate planning, guardianships and appeals for the Katie Beckett Deeming Waiver, NOW/COMP, and the GAPP nursing program.
Mr. Les Heyward is the Practice Manager for Jeyaram & Associates. He is a graduate of Emory University's paralegal program and holds an M.A. in Linguistics from the University of Texas. Mr. Heyward assists the firm's attorneys with drafting pleadings, corporate formation work, trademark applications, and with legal research.
Charlotte is not only our firm's mascot, but Mr. Jeyaram's son's certified and well trained service dog! Charlotte is a cream Golden Retriever and was trained by our friends at The Service Dog Institute. She helps Mr. Jeyaram's son with sensory overload, walking up and down stairs, and from wondering too far.

I submitted a legal question to Mr. DJ Jeyaram and he responded in a very timely manner. He offered to call me with specific information that I was requesting. He took the time to answer all of my questions over the phone explaining everything in a very detailed way that was so very helpful and easy to understand. We hired the team at Jeyaram to help our four year old son who is disabled get the additional nursing hours he needs through Gapp. From the first time I talked on the phone with DJ I felt at ease. I was not rushed and he was straight forward and I appreciated that. Then I stepped into their office, met Les, and sat down with Ashley, who by the way is the most compassionate person I have ever met and talked with Harrison; I felt a sense of calmness and confidence.
