A 1950s home made its way to the "2010s" with a little help from Handyman Kota. Installation of the new doors presented an opportunity to "beef up" insulation under the thresholds and around the frames. While the existing sills had begun to rot years ago, new pressure-treated sills under each door promise years of solid footing.
This family was looking to expand their living space off the dining room with the addition of a 16' x 20' deck and a sliding glass door for access to it. They preferred composite decking and vinyl railings to keep it low maintenance, settling on Deckorators Tropics composite deck boards in Hana Brown to match the color of decking on the front porch.
The homeowner felt confident that the boxes of laminate floor he purchased a year earlier had sufficiently acclimated to the house. While he was comfortable with the idea of installing the floating laminate floor, the prospect of using every "spare" moment to accomplish it was daunting. He had done preparation work in removing the old carpet and baseboards, as well as scraping and sanding some to remove remnants of whatever carpet pad remained.
I had just finished installing an egress window in a physician's home a few days earlier when she called and said her next-door neighbors, another physician and his wife, were interested in an estimate for something similar. Their daughter's basement bedroom was on the southwest corner of the house and they wanted to bring some natural light to the space, as well as update it to meet code to qualify as a legal bedroom.
I need to offer canines a big "thank you" for a certain percentage of my business. If you were to look at a Venn diagram of customers that are both homeowners and dog owners, the cross section would reveal a lot about the extent of my fence projects. Handyman Kota was prompt to come and give an estimate for our kitchen tile job. He communicated in a timely manner and was clear on materials he needed (we offered to purchase most materials ahead of time). He gave great detail for our job. He was tidy. He followed thru in the time frame requested.
