Strange experience. Went into browse. A guy behind the counter asked me if I needed anything, so I struck up a friendly conversation with him -- or tried to -- and he just turned away and ignored me. At first I thought he didn't hear me, so I said a bit more, but then I realized he was actually ignoring me. It was infuriating and shocking to have this experience in such a wonderful friendly place. Every other bike shop in Maui has been awesome. And, to think I was going to buy a pair of socks with their logo on it. Ha! It felt like a slap in the face -- such a typical bike bro culture moment

They are very professional, friendly and easy to work with . I brought in an electric bike to be repaired , spokes were busted and needed to have it looked over. They found the parts for it and contacted me with updates.

Dropped my bike off at 10 am on November 24 to get assembled and have ride wrap put on. Employee wasn't wearing a mask and answered the phone in the middle of our conversation. Didnt apologize or say excuse me. I was told 2 business days for it to be done. I called back December 1 and the guy made me feel like i was being annoying by checking up on my bike.
When i finally got my bike back i noticed the wrap was put on so terribly that my child could have done a better job. There is dirt and debris stuck under the wrap. I noticed they cut the wrap with obviously dull scissors or else the cuts

Rented a Giant Trance X 29 (codename Buckwheat) from Krank. bike was good as new, staff was friendly and helpful, had a great time riding down skyline and the mamane trail. Unbelievable views and fun.

1. if you tell the park ranger it's only a drop off to ride the skyline trail, they wave they entrance fee
2. the Kula lavender farm is a good meeting point and it may take roughly the same time for your driver to drive down the crater to the farm than it takes you to ride down (may vary depending how fast you ride

As I know many people have had 5 star reviews on Krank but my experience was quite bad. We rented an Ibis Ripmo AF for my sister and $109 for a single day it quite pricey especially there are less expensive places like Sunriders. Also everyone except Sarah and Jai was quite rude including the owner. They wanted $20 more because we picked up the bike early. If that wasn't bad enough they wanted the bike back at a very awkward time (in a 15min window) With all of that there was 5+ rideable but not very well maintained bikes.

We rented hardtail MTBs for the day and everything was ready when we showed up. One staff member helped us with our paperwork while another attached our bike rack to the car and loaded the bikes. The Makawao Forest Reserve is only like 10 min away and they gave us detailed rundown of what to expect. The bikes were in good condition and well tuned. Would definitely rent from here again.

This place has great bikes! I rented a couple mountain bikes and the rack they had worked perfectly. I would warn you that if you're not an advanced rider, I would definitely ask them which trails are easier. They didn't ask what level we were and they recommended some trails to us that were fun but definitely not for beginners. I had a few tumbles and a very challenging steep climb. Hawaii is such a beautiful place to ride though. I wouldn't miss this experience.

I wanted to ride the 10,000 ft volcano. Krank delivered. Their equipment was flawlessly set up, so well it was one of the best bike setups I have ridden. They paid attention to detail, provided me a loaner backpack to pack in their extra tubes and tools which were not needed and gave me a map of the trails. The set us up with a bike rack and everything. The bikes have celestial names and we rode Saturn and Uranus. Good guys, professional and way nicer than any shop I have been to on the mainland. Highly recommended.

If you’re riding Macawao or Skyline, and you need a quality bike, look no further. Kranks reserved my bike, dialed the suspension in for my weight ahead of time, and had all the extras needed for a good day. The gentleman who helped me gave me a well designed store map to Macawao just in case my google maps app lost signal- it did. The prices are very fair. For a high quality enduro bike that kept me safe and allowed me to crush some ascents and bomb Pineapple Express a few times, I felt it was a good partnership. They're only interested in selling their more high end bikes (the guy assisting me said it himself). Forget the man who was assisting me but he wasn't much help. It's a good place for rentals besides that a lot of the bikes are marked up in price because of the high cost of shipping to Hawaii (no way their fault). This is my experience there as a beginner into the biking world. In short its probably the best place to rent from on island but in terms of selling bikes, thats a whole different story. Honestly if you know what you want from them then it should be an okay experience but as a newbie

We rented three bikes for the week in Maui. I wanted to complete a bucket list ride from the ocean to the top of Haleakala as well as some other rides in Maui. I needed a high end bike similar to what I ride at home and definitely as light as possible. They outfitted me with a Giant TCR, full carbon, SRAM electronic components, a full carbon Giant Defy for my son and an e-bike (Orbea) for my other son (he needed a little extra help). A large group of friends rented mountain bikes here for the Skyline Trail. Easy online booking process and the bikes were in good shape, shifted smoothly, and handled the terrain well. Shop employees were friendly and knowledgeable and gave us a great overview of the trail and maps - additionally they were tremendously understanding (staying late and working with us on the late return fee) when 1 in our group had an accident and had to be taken to the ER. Would absolutely rent from them again!

I live in Oahu, and I came across one of their advertisements. I was in the market for a 2nd hand/used mountain bike. Instead I found this Brand New Cannondale 2020 Habit 3 Carbon for $3100. That's $1100 off of MSRP. In addition, they threw in some extras and free next day shipping to Oahu by Hawaiian Air Freight! The owner personally answered like a 100 different questions from me about this bike, and a upgrade project that I have. I will be referring these guys out to all my family, friends, and co-workers! We were able to get two full suspension bikes and get out to shred the Makawao forest. Pineapple Express is a really sick trail with fun and good shred for any skill level. Certainly worth it, and the uphill pedal is fun and beautiful.
Be extra certain to check the bike before it goes out. We had a great time riding, but just sanity check that the last person didn't cause issues. Specifically check the limits on derailleurs (Try and see if you can push it so the chain goes off the top of the cassette) and the spokes are all tensioned. These bikes must be getting shredded, as both of ours

Unreal experience minutes from the trailhead. The selection of bikes is drool-worthy. Top of the line bikes from Santa Cruz, Ibis, GT, etc.--and even some rare beasts like the new Knolly Fugitive LT that Moose and his team sorted out for me. Shop is well stocked and staff are knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Renting mountain bikes can be tricky with all the setup and maintenance work that's required but these guys make it a simple and painless process.

Really great selection of high-end road bikes perfectly set up for riding in the area (they also have really nice rental mountain bikes). Staff and owner are extremely helpful, knowledgeable, skilled and pleasant to deal with. Great advice on places to ride. I wish this was my local bike shop (I was visiting). Worth a trip across the island to rent from Krank regardless of where you are staying.

Looking for a place to rent for the day and these folks were the only ones to have what we needed. Came in the day before just to talk and see what they had and the staff was great! They made some recommendations for us on where to ride and options for other locations. We reserved the bike that afternoon and took care of all the paperwork to avoid the retail traffic that would be in the next day. Came back at 9AM the next day, they put on our peddles and checked things over very good. Adjusted the shocks a little and we were off. Ended the day meeting up with 3 of them at the local trails and riding
