Initially the warehouse was located on Gayley Street above what is now the Pinocchio's Beer Garden. The showroom was opened in 1987 at its current location in downtown Media on Baltimore Avenue between Jackson and Olive Streets, next door to the municipal parking garage. In 2009, Zubair & Lynn's daughter, Liala, started a new company- Puffin Rugs LLC, to continue the family business under second generation ownership.

Meanwhile, we are still offering rug sales- both machine-made and hand-knotted, rug cleaning and deodorizing (for strong odor removal such as animal urine, smoke, or mildew), rug repairs by our master weaver, hypoallergenic synthetic padding options for all floor types and expert appraisals! Our full submersion hand-wash process is specifically designed to clean hand-knotted rugs, but also works beautifully on machine-made rugs. The entire cleaning & drying process takes 7-10 days. We provide stain treatments free of charge, however, we cannot guarantee the stains will come out.

An Oriental rug is a purchase for a lifetime and when properly maintained, for generations. This care guide provides you with helpful tips however, not all situations or rugs react the same way. You should vacuum your rug often--both front and back sides (be sure not to vacuum the fringe), and rotate it once in a while.

They rescued a rug that was abused by 2 dogs and a small child for a few years. After professional steam cleaning and a ton of store bought remidies could not eliminate the smell or the color...they brought it back to life to look and smell brand new....and they did it with free pickup and drop off. The rug pad they suggested & sold with the cleaning service feels amazing.
