Established in 1995, The Cedar Tree Institute is a nonprofit organization providing services and initiating projects in the areas of mental health, religion, and the environment. It offers mental health services on an individual basis, works with faith communities and environmental groups, and is currently involved in ongoing partnerships with the US Environmental Protection Agency, the United States Forest Service, and five American Indian tribes in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

Biologists call the thin line of landscape where specific ecological systems meet, an "ecotone." Such intersections present unique, often overlooked species of plants and wildlife. Founded in 1995, The Cedar Tree Institute, a nonprofit organization, reflects a similar presence in the areas of mental health, religion, and the environment.
Northern Great Lakes Water Stewards is a faith-based initiative to establish a collaborative partnership to monitor, protect, and sanctify the lakes and rivers of our Upper Peninsula. October marks the beginning of our 3rd year in this 4-year interfaith environmental initiative to help protect, preserve and sanctify (with prayers and rituals) our Upper Michigan's streams and lakes.
Aging brings with it specific challenges. This 3-session series will informally present and train participants in the latest strategies in using mental health practices to improve quality of life as we face whatever the future brings to us.

Internal health benefits (breathing, mindfulness) and practical applications (balance, resiliency) from the traditions of the world's most deeply respected martial art. During Autumn, Winter, and Spring months (September - May) The Cedar Tree Institute offers Tai Chi classes EACH WEDNESDAY from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.
