For over 43 years, The Florida Ballet has provided the finest in dance performance, education, and community outreach programming serving over 35,000 community members annually. The Florida Ballet annually presents a season of four-six programs, including its annual holiday classic, The Nutcracker.

The Florida Ballet was founded in 1978 by Laurie Picinich-Byrd and Michael Byrd as a presenting organization with the goal of becoming Northeast Florida's professional ballet company. For over a decade, The Company of The Florida Ballet performed regionally and locally before disbanding in 1989 due to financial restraints.
The Florida Ballet enriches and inspires the cultural landscape of our community through the education and art of classical ballet. The commitment to seek innovative ways to collaborate with artists and organizations throughout the region. The Florida Ballet is deeply committed to inclusion, diversity, equity, and access at all levels of our organization.
The generosity of individual donors enables us to continue offering professional training, premiere performances, and engaging outreach educational programs to thousands of children each year. The Florida Ballet is proud to offer the AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE National Training Curriculum, a breakthrough program that combines high quality artistic training with the basics of dancer health and child development.The ABT National Training Curriculum consists of a comprehensive set of age-appropriate, outcome-based guidelines to provide the highest quality ballet training to dance students of all ages and skill levels.

The Florida Ballet Trainee Program offers talented students, ages 17-21, a well-rounded curriculum designed to prepare them for the next steps in their dance career. The two-year program is designed for high school graduates and is an extension of The Florida Ballet's Conservatory and Pre-Professional programs serving as a bridge between the School and the Company.

This is a beautiful space created for a small intimate show due to covid. Socially distanced temp checks sanitation and masks required. We loved it. I have been 2 times in the last year to see a show and have left touched each time. Patrick is my favorite dancer and the reason i came to watch a show. The artistry and physicality of each dancer is amazing here.

We didn't start here: We started at a school I loved, but much further away. I drove past The Florida Ballet every day to get there, but assumed they were too "elite" and expensive for us to get in.
When the drive became too much for me, I contacted The Florida Ballet.
What I discovered was that they are affordable -- much more so than I expected. What I discovered is that there are 3 dance-rooms, large changing-rooms for students, and a waiting area for parents. What I discovered is a groiup of fantastic teachers with both a great deal of skill at dance, and in dealing with the variety of students
