4J+1+1 RV Park
The Clark family has owned and operated the 4J RV Park & Campground for over 60 years. We take pride in being your hosts and making sure your mountain adventure vacation is as memorable as possible. Fine dining, craft beer, sprits, coffee and handmade chocolates are some of what Ouray has to offer.

A few blocks farther is the Ouray river walk that is a pleasant, 2 mile round trip, walking trail on the Uncompahgre river. The new Ouray Perimeter Trail has a trail head at our doorstep and there are many other beautiful hiking trails close to our campground. Mountain biking, ATV and horseback riding adventures can be easily arranged with local vendors.
Services
Our average summer temperatures range in the 70s to 80s in the daytime and drops into the 50s at night. Having appropriate layered clothing is important. We are located in town and are only 3 blocks from Ouray's grocery store. In addition to that, there are many resturants within walking distance from the campground.

We have a 25’ RV, our campsite was 4R. If you get a river site, you hear the sound of the flowing river all night - amazing. I highly recommend 4J+1+1. The staff was amazing, the scenery was spectacular. We do not tow a vehicle, so the proximity of 4J to town made for an easy walk. We also walked to the Via Ferrata (1.5 miles) a couple of times. You can pick up the Perimeter Trailhead from the campground. Ouray is a great town & 4J puts you at the heart of it.

The RV park and campgrounds was stellar. Everything you could need was provided and the location was simply unmatched, directly on the perimeter trail route- super easy to hop on the trail just outside your tent. Lots of trees and shade, and you can hear the river nearby!

The location is the only good thing about this park. Not big rig friendly, spaces are literally on top of each other. We have a 40ft class A with slides on both sides. One of our slides hovered over our neighbors picnic table. And on the opposite side we were were basically sharing a space with our neighbors. Thank goodness we hit it off, or it would have been incredibly awkward to cookout. Wifi is non existent. All of the grass areas are off limits to dogs. The proximity to restaurants, bars & shopping is the only good about this CG.

Everything was really good about the park: the staff was nice, the park itself was really clean and well maintained. It is located a short walk from the downtown of Ouray and shopping. The park has mobile home sites in addition to RV and trailer sites. I was particularly excited about seeing that a police man/woman lives there too. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because we couldn't connect to the WiFi from our RV. We had to go to the office building to connect. This was especially onerous since T-Mobile has no towers there, so our phones were pretty much useless.

Nice space. Clean. Quiet. Friendly hosts. Good location to walk to town. We watched Perigrine Falcons high up on the cliffs above us. Had a lovely breakfast at our own picnic table. Walked to the pool.

We were so lucky to grab the last spot. Two blocks from the main street (perfect location), clean and nice bathroom showers, laundromat, awesome staff... The reviews are all accurate! This place deserves every 5 star rating it has.

Depends on your needs. If you want to park an RV close to town, this is convenient. NOT safe for tent camping. Multiple bear visits. Shabby WiFi. Fantastic facilities. Clean baths washer dryer. No place to wash dishes. City street is the campground. Lots loud vehicles and people at night. Really more of a parking lot than a campground.

Nice location along the river right in the town of Ouray. Within walking distance to local hot springs/water park and dining along Main Street. However, all the sites are VERY close. The pull through site was barely long enough to accommodate our trailer and truck. No place to park our truck except right in front of our trailer and barely off the road. The sites are so close together with our slides out and our neighbors slides out just a few to maneuver between sites. Our picnic table is right next to our neighbors sewer hose, disgusting !! so we won't be enjoying any meals or time outside

We stay here every time we come to Ouray. The tent sites are very spacious (room for at least 2 tents), the bathrooms are always clean, they have onsite laundry at a very reasonable rate, and you can walk to everything. It was crowded, but that’s to be expected on a holiday wknd. I do not feel like my neighbors were intruding on me and everyone was respectful of the noise curfew.
We will continue to stay here!
Picture is not of the campsite, but of the fireworks in the park right behind us. It was a great 4th of July wknd.

Great place! Jill was awesome & professional. Grounds keepers polite and helpful. Views and location to town excellent. Laundry difficult with door getting locked and only 1:3 dryers gets hot! ***Rebecca difficult on a couple occasions. She is argumentative and over talks..doesn't listen or try to help or fix situations.

Arrived at a very clean campground with a beautiful shady spot! We stayed in spot #9 and it was really peaceful! In walking distance to local restaurants and the local Ouray hot springs.

The bathrooms in the women's shower area are filled with clumps of hair. So just an FYI there.

We did have a ground of people come in at about 2am shining their super bright head lamps into our camper as well as pounding in stakes right next to us. They decided to make a full meal too, so that was a little noisy but that wasn't the fault of 4J.

Overall it was a great and peaceful stay. Would return

Stayed for almost a week in June. Our spot was along the cliff for the small RVs and campers. Relatively quiet, level and wonderful location. Facilities are great for a campsite: clean bathrooms and laundry rooms, and never had to wait for a shower stall. Showers are free and laundry costs a couple dollars. They also sell reasonably-priced ice and propane (not refill: exchange or buy new only), which was handy. Always friendly staff who went the extra mile to help, even loaning a tool when needed.

Only real issue I have was enforcement of quiet time (starts at 10pm). Two neighboring spots had

Love this park! Stayed for 3 days in May, 2019. I'm reluctant to give it good reviews because more people will stay-haha. Beautiful park, great hosts, close to the beautiful and scenic main part of Ouray (walking distance), and to the hot springs near by. We stayed during a tourist lull so we were fortunate to back right up to the river. May I say, there is another park in town who boasts "water front"--but this park is much better. The mature trees, open space and wonderful, friendly hosts make it a 5-star in our book. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

We travel all over the west and have probably stayed in 50 camp sites. The 4 J+ is my favorite place to go...of all of them. Ouray is simply the most beautiful town in America and the 4 J with its trees and setting right next to the river, is a perfect complement to this beautiful town and setting. It has easy walking access to the town, with walking access to one of the most beautiful hiking trails in The US. The people at the 4J are multiple generation owners. They are just great to work with.

This is our 2nd trip here. Ouray is a beautiful town and this RV park is the icing on the cake. It's nestled in the mountains with a stream running through it the staff is very helpful and friendly not to mention it's within walking distance to town. I highly recommend staying here if you're in the area.

Practically across the creek from the hot springs and few blocks to downtown, stay here for the location - park your camper and walk. Well managed and maintained park, though a typical "gravel yard' sort of RV park.

LOVED our stay at the 4J and would do so again in a flash. Great location away from the road and walking distance to the Hot Springs and town, beautiful RV site up against the mountain, clean and updated restroom and laundry facilities, a truly friendly staff who cares about their customers experience. The only drawback is the WIFI signal is very poor so don't plan to work there, just relax, that's what this lovely park is all about.

We had to change our plans and friends were already staying here so we joined them. The prime spots are along the creek but if course they were full up. However the camp host made an effort to park us near our friends.

And we had a wonderful view of the canyon wall just a few hundred feet away from us.

The location is fantastic. You can walk into town and to the park that had a free live concert one night. And you can walk to the hot springs too.

One strange thing is that while they allow dogs (there were a lot of them)), you can't walk your dogs on the grass and there is no place set

Location, location. Otherwise 1 star. We liked being able to walk into historic Ouray. Beautiful town.

The campground is clean, has clean bathrooms, very nice staff...

but... a public road splits through the campground that the local kids seem to like annoying the campers by riding their unmuffled dirt bikes up and down late at night. The police do drive by regularly and I think it is very safe but keep an eye on your kids and pets while walking along the road.

If you book a spot I recommend getting one along the river to drown out the noise.

We recently stayed here for 2 nights. The owners/managers were as nice as could be!!! They let us know the spot next to us would be open and to feel free to spread out if we wanted to.

The location was within walking distance to town, hot springs and very close to hiking trails.

My only dislike was being on a heavily traveled road. If you have a smaller RV, try getting a spot on the creek.

This was a wonderful campground for us. We had 2 class As traveling with 8 kids and 4 adults. The bathrooms were very clean and big and roomy. That made all the difference! We all showered every night in warm showers.
The campground was beautiful and right on the river. Being here in fall the changing colors made it amazing.
There was a clean laundry room and staff was nice and accommodated us for washing times.
Didn't give all 5 stars because there's not much playground for kids - just swings and not much grass area for them to play in. But we found a big park close and they walked
