Everyone's journey has a beginning. At Charleston Advancement Academy High School, we believe the most important part of your journey is who influences your beginning. From flexible schedules to individual guidance, our mission is to be there for our students from the start. We provide a comprehensive education to at-risk students which leads to students' attainment of a diploma, acceptance to college or pursuit of a career, and culminates in each student having a positive impact in their community.
Services
Charleston Advancement Academy, a tuition-free public charter high school, is an innovative education leader that is partnered with the South Carolina Public Charter School District, helping young adults overcome real-life challenges to earn their South Carolina state-issued high school diploma.

Our learning environment provides exactly what research shows students need to be successful: engaging courses, technologically advanced educational tools, personalized curriculum, and regular interaction with caring adults.Beyond academic and post-secondary supports, CAA offers the tools students need to overcome personal barriers to attendance and engagement.
Is this a virtual school? No, our students must complete 24 hours per week, with a minimum of 12 hours per week on campus. How long does it take to complete credits? Students work at their own pace to complete their credits, as long as they are actively working on coursework. What does a year round calendar mean?
The CAA Board of Directors hosts a regularly scheduled meeting on the third Wednesday of each month. Meetings are usually held at 6:30 pm at Trident Technical College. Meetings are open to the public and all community members and stakeholders are welcome to attend. Electronic voting occurs.

If you need access to a computer or require assistance, you may come to the 1484 Camp Rd, Charleston, SC 29412 school location from 8am-3pm these days for assistance or use of a computer.
Students who are not meeting the minimum attendance requirements will be referred to our "Reset Program." Additionally, your Edgenuity account may be deactivated as a result of not logging 24 hours in Edgenuity. It is your responsibility to actively communicate with your advocate and teachers every week.
Teaching Fellows must attend one of the eleven Teaching Fellows Institutions. These include Anderson University, Charleston Southern University, Clemson University, Coastal Carolina University, College of Charleston, Francis Marion University, Lander University, USC Aiken, USC Columbia, USC Upstate, and Winthrop University.

I had a very awesome experience at this school! I had wonderful teachers who helped me in challenging courses like math. Mrs. Brenda is a great math teacher. Mrs. Suzanne is a great English teacher. The staff are so kind and make you feel welcome. I really recommended students coming here! They really care about your education and you! I pretty much met the whole staff and they all were so kind. I’m so glad I came here. Thank you Mr. Mark for telling me about it because I would’ve never known if it wasn’t for you! Mr. Dan and Mrs. Franey are great directors. I want to say Thank You to the

If you could give negative stars I definitely would This is a school with amazingly highly educated staff That really care about the kids and are gifted and a principle that has no clue how to run a school This school has so much potential and it's so sad This is an unsafe place for you to send your children And it is sad because people are usually at their last resort when they come to schools like this
