Matthew Candau founded Performance Physical Therapy of Idaho in 2018 with the help and support of his family and close friends. Matt has always had a dream of being able to have a facility where he could utilize all of his past experiences and specialized training to provide members of his community with care that exceeds all expectations.

Performance Physical Therapy boasts a 2,800 SF state of the art Rehabilitation and Training facility. We utilize the best equipment along with the best treatment techniques to get our patients better faster. Patient balcony to sit and enjoy peaceful views of Bogus Basin while your loved one is receiving treatment.
Matt has been involved with Sport Performance Training and Rehabilitation in the US and abroad for over 10 years. In 2011 he chased down his dream of becoming a Physical Therapist while attending one of the world's top Physical Therapy programs at The University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia.

I cannot say enough great things about Performance Physical Therapy. I actually look forward to going every MWF. The staff is always so friendly, they make you feel like family. I can tell they love what they do. The atmosphere is very patriotic 🇺🇸. The walls are covered with military and first responders who are past and present patients. They play amazing music, sometimes Country, sometimes Classic Rock…I love ‘em both. MOST IMPORTANTLY, they are making a difference on my back! I was scheduled to have spinal surgery next year. I had major shoulder surgery because of nothing more than too many birthdays. I was recommended to them by two other people who were treated by Matt and his team. They only had good things to say. As far as I go, I am ahead of my recovery time and I attribute that to Matt and his team. My wife, who was having back problems, and unhappy with her current provider, also went to see Matt. She is very happy with him and the entire crew is up to date on the latest treatments and technology.

As an athlete, I have been to a lot of PT clinics over my lifetime including the Sports Medicine teams at the Olympic Training Centers in Chula Vista and in Colorado Springs. Matt at Performance Physical Therapy is the best of the best! I would highly recommend! If I didn't live local, I would still come back here if I needed PT.

I fell on my shoulder ice fishing and fractured it and was referred to Matt at Performance PT. Matt, Cam, Jake and Brett were all awesome to work with and very knowledgeable about their profession. They make the pain of going thru the exercises FUN and not seem so bad. Thanks to them, my shoulder is fully functional and I didn’t need to have surgery! Yeah! Thanks guys!!!

Matt is amazing !!
He fixed my tennis elbow right away ..
The night before ( on Sunday night ), i had problems in straightening up my right arm after coming back from playing Pickleball ..
i came to his office on Monday afternoon …
He fixed it !
On Tuesday morning, i even forgot to vacuumed with my left hand ( i usually vacuumed as much as i could with my left hand, to give my right hand a rest, and not to give it too many burden ) ..
I vacuumed with my right hand 😳😳👍👍 !!
Because no sore no pain anymore !!!

In July of 2020, I suffered a catastrophic injury to my right arm and shoulder. After several surgeries and about 60 days of immobility, I started my path to recovery with Matt. Matt was fantastic and had faith in my recovery even when I did not. Matt’s knowledge and professionalism kept me showing up 2-3 days a week for 7 months. His ability to see improvements in my performance when my spirits were low helped me keep the faith that a full recovery was the only option available to me. Clean and comprehensive facility. I had a wonderful experience at Performance Physical Therapy. After having a total knee replacement, Matt was the perfect person to get me back to where I needed to be. He is extremely knowledgeable, has extensive training and very professional. Nick, Ryan, Brett and Cam were a pleasure to work with. Definitely 5 Stars!!!

I am extremely pleased with the results of the superb physical therapy I have received over the past 2 months! I went to see Matt for shoulder pain. I couldn't do even the simplest of things without significant pain. I felt very confident in his initial assessment and felt significant improvement after the first few appointments! Not only is he a highly trained and very skilled therapist but he is a super nice guy! The entire staff are professional, kind and helpful.
