Welcome to Schopick Psychiatry, and the practice of Dr. David Schopick. The goal of my practice is helping people get their lives back. Restoring mental health can be a tricky road to navigate, but with perseverance and treatment, change is possible. I enjoy working with people, and from long years of experience, have a good sense of what it takes to help my patients return to productive, healthy lives.
I am Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in adult, adolescent, and child psychiatry. I primarily serve southern and central New Hampshire, southern Maine and northern Massachusetts. However, thanks to telepsychiatry (see below), I can aid patients anywhere in New Hampshire.

Services
In my practice, I take time to educate my patients about all facets of their illness and treatment, so that we form a true collaboration, and are able to proceed as a team. If my patients need me, they know they can call me 24/7-they will never get bumped to a doctor or nurse practitioner they don't know (unless I am on vacation and signed out to another psychiatrist for emergency coverage).
First, check your health insurance to see if it covers treatment of mental and emotional disorders. If your insurance plan is NOT listed above, please call your health plan to determine if out-of-network coverage is offered under your policy. We are about 30 minutes from Massachusetts, 15 minutes from southern Maine, and within an hour from Concord and Manchester, New Hampshire.
If you or a loved one are experiencing problems coping with daily life, a psychiatric evaluation may be useful. The American Psychiatric Association reports that mental illness is common, and milder conditions are very common. One-fifth of Americans suffer from a diagnosable mental disorder during any given year.
Many families have a member who is suffering from drug dependency. If you are affected, or know someone who is, my practice may be a resource for you. The treatment we offer does NOT take the place of the full course of therapy needed to resolve the root causes of addiction, but it can make it easier for someone dependent on drugs to start getting the help that they need.
Having suffered (for) a lifetime and having had other doctors throw in the treatment towel, I was fortunate to find Dr. Schopick. His tenacity and professional demeanor is refreshing and can give you hope in the darkest of times. Dr. Schopick is very knowledgeable, passionate and friendly while maintaining professional and efficient standards of care.

After getting diagnosed he started telling me that I need to somehow work on getting rid of what I had. I later found out that getting rid of it was impossible. He would also never listen to my concerns. If you want someone to just prescribe you medication without any talking hes the right guy but other then that dont go to him.

Dr. David Schopick is one of the best doctors I have had the pleasure of seeing. I don't know what llthese bad reviews but it must be someone who couldn't follow the simple expectations of being on a treatment program. Unlike every doctor that I have ever seen, Dr Schopick actually treats me with respect and does not judge me based on my past events. Because of him I'm still alive today. If you are looking for an honest doctor that truly cares for his patients and as a bonus has reasonable rates, then he is the doc you should see. You won't regret it, I know I didnt!

Dr Shopick prescribed me a medication that caused an irreparable side effect that will persist for the rest of my life. This was after i specifically asked him if the medication had any potential to have lasting effects after discontinuation, and he said no. I never would have taken it had i known that wasn’t true. He was also late by 15-45 minutes to like 3 of my 5 virtual appointments and offered no apology or explanation. Shopick is yet another useless and also negligent mental health professional that you can tell only cares about your money.

Horrible experience with him seeing my son, he just kept wanting to increase his medications, even though he was having violent outbursts on the lower doses. And then made me feel I was doing the wrong thing taking him off the medication. It's very sad because there is such a need for child psychiatrist's

Parents looking for someone to just prescribe medication for a child may enjoy working with Dr Schopick. He did not appear interested in hearing my concerns about the prescribed medications or my child. Never apologized for long wait times and always seemed to be in a hurry to get us out of his office. Offered no actionable advice. Very disappointed.

Dr. Schopick took a very methodical, detailed approach in diagnosing my son's conditions, to really understand what is going on with him. His treatment followed the same path, to make sure what we were trying would work. His approach has resulted in us getting our happy, sweet boy back! I would give him 50 stars if I could :)

I have had many bad experiences with doctors in my life. From family physicians, to orthopedic surgeons, to psychiatrists. As a result, I am very picky about who I see, and I have a very hard time finding someone I feel comfortable around, and who I can trust. This is the best psychiatrist I've been to, and I'm glad I found him when I did. This doctor actually listens to me. He does NOT talk down to me, or act like a superior human being (like so may have in the past). He has ALWAYS been there for me, and I would have a very hard time believing anything bad written, or spoken about him.

Dr. Schopick is an outstanding physician and psychiatrist, both professionally and personally. He is an expert in the field and truly cares about his patients, clearly and honestly communicating, providing treatment that helps them to heal and live to their fullest potential. Perhaps most importantly, he is there when needed: when a patient is in crisis and requires help, Dr. Schopick is a phone call away, including nights and weekends. He helped us in that regard earlier this year. Just to know that support is available makes all the difference, and Dr. Schopick’s availability is an enormous
