Naturopathic medicine is a healing system that employs natural remedies to enhance the body's innate self-healing capacity. Dr. Herdman takes a careful medical history, listening to each patient, and she may order thorough blood testing, imaging, and other tests to reach an accurate diagnosis.

Working in close partnership with you, Dr. Herdman attends to the whole person - body and psyche - and to the underlying causes of illness. Simple, delicious dishes embracing Western bio-medical, Chinese and Ayurvedic teachings; high-potency nutritional supplements. Customized herbal tinctures hand-mixed by Dr. Herdman; advanced botanical tablet or capsule formulas to replenish specific body systems.
For women, we offer a full spectrum of holistic treatments for women of all ages. Menstrual concerns including painful periods, irregular or heavy flow, may be addressed with botanical medicines or herbal concentrates, diet changes and nutritional support. We also work with fibroids, endometriosis, and support for becoming or maintaining healthy pregnancy.
Dr. Herdman offers wide range of approaches, from botanical formulas to customized prescriptions, depending upon the patient's choices and health needs. We begin with a careful history, listening for potential endocrine symptoms including fatigue, sleepiness after meals, sleep patterns, bowel function, skin and hair health, feeling overheated or chilly, anxiety or low mood, and weight gain or loss.
Internal Medicine includes cardiovascular care, lung health, gastroenterology, liver and kidney health, and rheumatology including care for auto-immune and inflammatory conditions. Dr. Herdman now prefers the most natural treatments first, with prescription medications as a second choice carefully chosen only if needed.

Dr. Herdmann will work with you to identify problems in your health in ALL aspects, and then she will help you get back on track in the most efficient and knowledged way. I was pleasantly surprised with how much Dr. Herdmann genuinely cares about my daily experience, and it is clear she is actually invested in all her patients. She is insanely clever, kind, supportive, and understanding. Her assistant, Joy, is also very helpful and goes above and beyond to get things done right away.
My only gripe is that Dr. Herdmann is commonly late to appointments, even if yours is the first of the day.

Dr Herdman and her office assistant, Joy, are extremely difficult to work with. I've been trying to get them to help me with a "Letter of Medical Necessity" and they've been unwilling to fill it out citing that Washington State Law forbids them to fill this form if you don't buy the vitamin supplements from their office. When asked which WA state law this is they were unable to provide it. I called to talk with Joy on the phone about this and within a few minutes of the conversation Joy hung up on the phone. I advise you to look around for a different naturopathic medicine practitioner.
