Brattleboro Bicycle Shop
The Brattleboro Select Board has lifted the order requiring masks inside stores. If you feel uncorfortable being indoors without a mask please let us know and we will wear them. Governor Scott has announced tighter travel restrictions and has pointedly advised Vermonters to avoid interaction with anyone not in your immediate family group.

We cannot let people into the store due to the risk of contamination of displayed merchandise. Bicycle shops, as transportation businesses, have been listed as Essential Critical Infrastructure Workforce by the Department of Homeland Security. We are therefore providing curbside drop-off and pick-up service.
Services
Brattleboro Bicycle Shop began life in the late 1940s as a few bikes in a Western Auto dealership called Red Circle, Inc., at 60 Elliot Street. By the 1960s it had become a Schwinn shop, but decided to switch to Raleigh as the main brand by the bike boom years of the early 1970s. We still have the sales records back to 1972, and occasionally see these bikes back for repairs!
Did you find what you wanted in this section? Please drop us a line and let us know how we can improve the information this site provides. You can save yourself time and hassle by setting up your bike purchase here. Study up on the bikes and then either send us an email to hold a bike for 24 hours or call up and give us a credit card number to get the deal rolling.
We cannot ship complete bikes, sight unseen, from web orders. Information is provided to ensure the highest level of satifaction for those who come to our one location in Vermont to buy their bicycles. This is my GT Psyclone, which dates from the early 1990s. The Psyclone was never sold as a bike model, only as a frame from the "skunk works" Tech Shop in Colorado.
We can do almost anything you'd want to do to fix or build a bicycle, but our most appreciated service is the advice we provide on repairs. Often the question is not so much "can it be fixed?" The three parking spaces out front turn over quickly and are often available in the afternoon.

Between the new parking garage on Elliot St. and the Harmony, High-Grove, and Harris parking lots there are over 1000 parking spaces within one block of our store. We do not take appointments. All scheduling is soonest in, soonest out. You can monitor your bike's status in our work queue by following the service schedule link in the sidebar.
Arnie has been an avid rider for more than the twenty years we've known him, and has mapped out dozens of rides you can do around the county. Not one to be stingy, Arnie has generously published several of his cue sheets on his web site for your use. The Ranney-Crawford House is very well appointed and you can see that from the photos of their rooms.

Great cycle shop, well stocked with very friendly staff. I rented a road bike here which was well maintained and fitted my needs perfectly. I will be back when I am next in the area.
