Montecito Preschool is a unique preschool located in Los Altos, CA. Our campus is a one-of-a-kind natural wonderland for children, tucked away in Silicon Valley on 2 gorgeous acres featuring century-old trees, lush gardens, playgrounds, forts, barnyard animals and more!
Our teachers and staff are carefully selected and trained to help provide a nurturing environment in which children can engage in their own emergent curriculum, and build their academic and life skills through age appropriate, play-based and concrete learning opportunities.

Services
Preschool classes at Montecito Preschool include part-time and full-time sessions (your choice) for each age group, with options for drop-in Enrichment programs and back-up care (provided as needed). Classes for preschool at Montecito Preschool can be separated into part-time, full-time sessions with options of extended enrichment.
Year-round daily Drop-In and Back-Up/Extended Stay Programs are available to preschoolers and elementary children whether or not they are currently enrolled in classes at Montecito Preschool.
Children may attend our Drop-In and Back-Up/Extended Stay Program without any advance sign-up, the hours never expire, and drop-in is available daily from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Our Drop-in program can be used on its own or combined with full-time or part-time classes to allow more time at school and for your family's convenience.We also offer this drop-in during our school breaks and through back-up care (through Bright Horizons or Care.com).

All Montecito Preschool classes and programs (including drop-in Enrichment) have specific routines that are designed to give children the opportunity to make their own choices. This daily routine is predictable and promotes a sense of security and self-confidence which allows children to deeply engage in play and learning activities.
Enrollment for Summer School begins at the end of February each year. Summers at Montecito are full of imaginative summer fun! If your child is a terrific two, thrilling three, fantastic four, Kindergarten or elementary age child up to 5th grade, he or she will enjoy activities inspired by the camps below.
Montecito Preschool has been part of the local community since 1960. We provide a developmentally appropriate preschool experience for children 2 years of age through Kindergarten, and drop-in and camp programs for elementary children (K-5th), with flexible scheduling for the families of Los Altos, Mountain View, Sunnyvale, and the surrounding communities.

My 3 year old went to the Enrichment program here for 3 months only. He can't stop talking about the school, the teachers, his friends even after moving back to India now! There's a lot of warmth and love in everyone at the school. Excellent head-start for my little one. His first school ever, and we both have great memories for the lifetime.

My son has been going to Montecito Preschool for about 6 months now. My experience with this school has been very good. Teachers are very caring and considerate of my son's needs. He is happy there. The campus is beautiful with age appropriate play structures and a variety of activities for the little ones. The program is play based and encourages hands on learning. A friendly environment for the children indeed!!

We recently moved to Los Altos and put our son in the 5 year old program at Montecito. The 5 year old program has a wonderful student/teacher ratio with 8 students and 2 teachers. My son is really happy here and looks forward to going to school every morning. He loves his teachers and the year is off to a great start! The campus is adorable with gorgeous oak trees and a little red schoolhouse and they incorporate animals as part of the curriculum. The children get to interact with chickens, lizards, guinea pigs, fish, etc. and my son has even brought home 2 eggs so far from one of the chickens

I think Montecito Preschool is just fantastic!! My 4yr olds love it and are happy to go to school everytime. They have blossomed socially and emotionally and are really thriving here. I dont know if its all the fresh air, abundant choice or caring teachers but whatever the recipe, it works. They are also very helpful to the parents. The teachers work with you as a team and really pay attention when you tell them you have concerns. I am thrilled to be having my 2yr old daughter join them this summer for their 2's class. If its half as much fun as last years camps I know she will love it. I look
