Our mission is to help you to achieve a healthy weight and lifestyle through weight loss surgery. At Central Carolina Surgery, we offer multiple types of bariatric (surgery for weight loss) procedures which cause weight loss through physical and chemical changes in your body. A Sleeve Gastrectomy greatly reduces the size of your stomach and limits the amount of food that can be eaten at one time.
The gastric bypass works in two ways: it creates a physical change in your body and a chemical change. The Lap-Band reduces your stomach's capacity, limiting the amount of food you are able to eat at one time. Most patients achieve their weight loss goals and enjoy their improved health and lifestyle.

One of the primary factors that will help us answer your question, "am I a candidate for weight loss surgery?" is your body mass index. You must be classified as obese to qualify. You have a BMI 35 to 39.9 with serious medical conditions associated with obesity, such as high blood pressure, type II diabetes, sleep apnea, or high cholesterol.
CCS surgeons understand that the decision to undergo weight loss surgery isn't one that should be made in haste. We believe that a good understanding of the process will make you more successful on your weight loss journey. CCS provides online and in-person seminars to suit a variety of needs. Our seminars are free and available to the general public.
