Estimates indicate that 50 million people in the USA are without health insurance. Approximately 1.4 million New Jerseyians are included in that group. Under these circumstances, obtaining adequate medical treatment, prescriptions, home medical equipment (HME) and medical supplies becomes a daily challenge and burden.
Even for those with health coverage, strict rules and guidelines can limit access to essential equipment needed for rehabilitation or ongoing medical conditions. At the same time, a significant amount of home medical equipment is issued to insured patients and used in their homes and in healthcare settings.

Abilities in Action, a pediatric therapy center based in Shrewsbury, NJ, is always looking for ways to enhance the occupational, speech and physical therapy services we provide for children with developmental delays and disabilities. Most recently, we found a true treasure at Goodwill Home Medical Equipment in Ewing, NJ-one that brought many smiles, especially to a sweet 17-month old named Abby.

Intimidating store. Difficult to navigate if you have a disability. Also, if store employees are going to keep yelling at you that certain areas are off limits, it needs to better marked. I get areas in the back would be off limits, but i was in the middle of the store on what appeared to be the only path through the place. Wont be back.

After taking care of a family member and being left with medical equipment, it was helpful to find out that Goodwill accepts donations of hospital beds, etc. They're providing a wonderful service by offering low cost, good quality medical supplies without a prescription. This ( NJ) location is the only Goodwill in the area that has medical equipment in the area but it's worth the trip.

I drove from South Jersey on a Saturday only to find the store was closed and it wasn't even 4:00 yet. I was donating medical equipment but the sign on the back door states will only take items until 4. I could have sworn they were opened when I drove around to the back door. But after ringing the bell several times and knocking, I drove around to the front only to find the store closed. I also called and left a message but never received a call back. I will donate my items elsewhere.

I have been a satisfied shopper here for the past several years. However, over the past few months, I have made special trips there during the store's business hours only to find the place all locked up. No note on the door or anything. If you are able to get in the door the employees are generally very pleasant and helpful, but this random closing whenever stuff is not good customer service and very frustrating. Another time I called up on a Saturday to see if they were open and was told, "Yes, but I don't know how much longer we will be here." (I was able to get there shortly and had a good experience

They had a number of items that we needed for my wife's upcoming surgery: they were great about checking to be sure they had everything before I drove down. Everything was clean, and one item was still in it's original plastic wrap with the original instruction booklet attached. Prices are more than fair. The staff is incredibly helpful, and offered to help me get everything to the car. Wonderful folks!
