Services
Our company has its roots in a family-run upholstery shop founded in Charlotte, North Carolina in 1959 by Mason and Virginia Terry. With son Steve at the helm, Terry's Upholstery grew from a true mom and pop organization to one of the largest regional upholstery companies in North Carolina, branching into Terry's Commercial Upholstery, Terry's Furniture Contractors and Abagail's Fabrics.
Unlike the lady Austen refers to, most of us have families complete with children, grandchildren, dogs, cats and perhaps even the occasional pet rodent or reptile thrown in for good measure. Add to this the normal wear that age inevitably brings to bear, and it's easy to see why re-upholstery or replacement of furniture becomes necessary every 7-10 years.
In our home, we are surrounded by family pieces that breathe out memories of grandmothers and grandfathers, moms and dads, children and grandchildren. My great-grandmother's china cabinet that she was forced to sell--and then was able to buy back in an act of poignant redemption. My grandfather's shoe last on which he made his eleven children their one pair of shoes each year.
