Rattlesnake Creek Vineyard
In 1998 we started throwing rocks into a truck from a pasture Connie Poten bought to keep from development with the help of anyone who happened by to clear the land for a vineyard. Crazy, but legendary Elmer Swenson in Minnesota had developed French-American hybrid grapes for cold climates. Our mission at Ten Spoon is to grow and produce quality wine and to preserve open space for wildlife, agriculture, people and companion animals.

Our farming and wine-making are made possible by dedicated employee partners and friends, and our ever-popular community harvest proves every year that Ten Spoon is now a traditional part of Montana's agricultural and cultural heritage. We grow these French-American hybrid grapes-the vines thrive to temperatures -30 degrees-in our certified organic vineyard.
Services
Ever since we planted our first grapevines in 1998, we've strived for healthy soil and robust vines. Our vineyard is certified organic. Tractor use in the vineyard comes after ground birds have fledged and left their nests. With the exception of yeast, we do not use animal products (fish bladders, egg yolks, for example) or gluten in our winemaking.
Thanks for a delightful summer evening of relaxation and appreciation. The winery gardens are so lovely. Our son planned a birthday surprise for his wife and we all tagged along for the fun including our 3 year-old granddaughter Jasmine who loved dancing to the live music. Ten Spoon Winery successfully preserved pristine Rattlesnake land for all to enjoy.
The pleasing complexity of a classic Pinot Noir-with notes of dark cherry and currant in an earthy cast deepened by a touch of French oak-that was what made this wine memorable. This Syrah had Supple tannins enhance a balance of chocolate, tobacco and spice for a subtle, deep taste and long finish.

Ten Spoon isn't just one of the Northwest's best vineyard and wineries, it's also an unforgettable place to host weddings, fundraisers, parties and more! A charming mix of elegance and laid-back atmosphere await you up here in the Rattlesnake, as do breathtaking views of our local wilderness. And if that wasn't enough, we also have live music and tasting hours 52 weeks year-round!

Its not Napa BUT it is good wine and the atmosphere can not be beat. Go without hesitation. Maybe make a bike ride out of it.

We made the trip to Missoula from Paradise specifically to go to Ten Spoon. What a nice (I'd assume) family owned winery and vineyard just east of Missoula. With spacious outdoor seating with umbrellaed tables, we went with the wine flights and their pizzas as they brought in a live performer (who was entertaining, fun, and played well). All-in-all this made for an excellent COVID-19 era evening. They also let me fly my drone around a bit and I captured some nice imagery of the grounds!

Had an awesome time here! Was a solo traveler just passing through Missoula and found out they had live music the night I was in town (the band was great!). There was a really nice woman serving brick oven pizzas that were absolutely amazing. The bartender was also super sweet and gave great recommendations on their wines, especially since I don’t like anything sweet and live by “the bolder the better.” The winemaker came and introduced himself as well, which was really cool. I would absolutely come back and buy bottles of their wine and listen to their music in their vineyard in a heartbeat

Ten Spoon Winery is located in the rattlesnake valley. It’s casual and they often have live music. I enjoy renting the lawn for private events. There are also numerous hiking trails in the area so a hike (Try Sawmill Gulch for an easy stroll) then wine makes for an ideal afternoon.

Haven't visited the winery, I was given a bottle of the Yellowstone Firehole White Wine Organic by friends. No vintage information.

The wine is disappointing to say the least. Raw, acidic, and cheap tasting. No winery worth its salt would let this out into the market. Down the sink it went.

Overall experience was a good one. The wine is very tasty and reasonably priced. The live music on Friday nights is a definitely plus for the atmosphere. Some negatives for my wife and I was that after doing tasting flights of wine and buying five bottles, this winery does not waive the price for the flights. This is a common practice at the dozen or so wineries I have been to prior to this one where if you purchase multiple bottles of wine, the tasting fees are waived. The tasting room itself seemed very cluttered and strange with crates and boxes stacked 10 feet high in many places. Again, overall

Yup. Found a winery in Montana just outside Missoula. What a treasure!

I turned down the wrong drive. Parked in the wrong spot. Went into to the wrong building. Hey! The four was wide open so I walked in and gave a hearty hello. Turns out it was Andy's, the owner/winemaker's, home. Lucky me he was a genuine and friendly fellow who pointed me in the right direction to the tasting room.

One I found the right driveway and parked in the right spot, I was met at the right door by nine other than Andy who proceeded to be the midst gracious host. He treated me to a tank sample of afantastic

Ten Spoon Winery is wonderful! You're greeted at the door by friendly and helpful staff, and welcomed into a comfortable and charming tasting room. A wide variety of white and red wines to choose from. They offer several estate wines made from grapes grown there (the vineyard is right outside!). The wine has a unique taste, I recommend sampling.

The patio is open on warmer days and there are tables set up on the lawn. They do not serve much food, but you can bring your own food/picnic! It seems to be a pretty dog and kid friendly place, with live music some nights which makes for a great

My son brought me home a bottle from his recent trip through Montana. Oh my gosh, this the best wine I have ever tasted.
smooth, clean and very satisfying.
Unfortunately it was gone way too fast because I had to have everyone taste it.
Highly recommend Ten Spoon.

Got a bottle of Rocky Mountain Red as a wedding gift, it's bottled by Ten Spoon. I loved it, but was unable to find another bottle. I promised myself that if I was ever in the area, I'd stop by. I was blessed with the opportunity to visit this past summer. Although they no longer carry Rocky Mountain Red, I sampled the pear wine and was satisfied with it. The ambiance was very relaxing. No frills, country setting, beautiful mountains all around. My only complaint was that the email that I sent to the company regarding finding the Rocky Mountain Red went unanswered.

A nice outdoor patio with a view of the mountains-- you'd be hard pressed to beat that. The wine was serviceable, too, and not just "for Montana."

$10 a flight | Rustic setting | Great wine
$

I live in wine country, Sonoma County, California, and I absolutely loved this place. I was in complete shock to find out that it was $10 for a flight!

This place is situated on a beautiful open lot with a view of the mountains. It's gorgeous during the winter time, but a pretty cozy place during the summer months. This was a house turned into a business because the bathroom has a tub in there :P The decor is rustic, very country feeling, and it makes you feel like you made the right decision to drive out to this place because of the warm, hospitable

Gorgeous setting and patio, with spaced out tables on green grass and lots of seating. It is a wonderful place to have a picnic and try a flight or two of wine.
I have to admit, I didn't care for most of what I chose, but I would go back in a heartbeat for another picnic. I might stick to a glass of Pear, which is the one I liked.
The flight of four wines was $10, plus tip, which is an alright price. It's a better deal that the single glasses at $8 each, due to being able to try multiple wines.

Great place to hang out. The Silver Spoon is a wine that can hang with the best. The farm is certified organic by the State of Montana. Good stuff!!! Also, the staff is awesome.

If I had to base my rating solely on the wine I would have given it a 2 or a 3. What makes this a wonderful place is the location and the atmosphere. It feels like you are enjoying a peaceful day in the mountains far away from the hustle and bustle of town. The staff is very friendly and the live music is usually OK. The venue does not serve any full meals; However, you are allowed to bring your own picnic with you to enjoy while sipping wine in the beautiful Rattlesnake Valley.

I'm new to Missoula, and live off Rattlesnake Dr. so I figured why not try a winery close to home?

I was very impressed with the atmosphere, there's indoor and outdoor seating. My boyfriend and I went for wine tasting on a Thursday night from 5-9pm. They have bands that play there on the weekends. The girl who was working that night was awesome! She explained the wines and gave good suggestions based off of what we like.

I wasn't a huge fan of the red wines a majority of them were pretty dry, but I definitely a fan of the white wines. The pear and apple wines were my favorite

A tasting room open until 9pm? Fabulous!

A flight of three wine tastings for $6? Fantastic!

Pleasant ladies who offered great service? Check, check!

As for the wine, I am spoiled since I live in Washington and Washington wineries make AMAZING wines. So, I wasn't floored by how the Ten Spoon wines tasted - I tried 6 by myself - a mix of whites & reds - and took sips of my friends' wines. But no wine has croseed my lips that I didn't like. My favorite from the ones I did try is the St. Pepin.

This winery is easily accessible from downtown Missoula and I recommend you check
