Located in Fairhope, Alabama, Fairhope Yacht Club(FYC) has been a Mobile Bay institution since 1942. We are located on the beautiful Eastern Shore of Mobile Bay, and welcome sailors of all ages, both racers and cruisers. FYC offers spirited racing, plus a wide variety of social and family events. Members quickly rallied and renovated the boat barn is serve as our temporary club house.
It is a beautiful, grand facility. Throughout the rebuilding process our spirit for the love of sailing was never diminished and our members continued to enjoy racing and social events on the FYC grounds. We continue to be a vibrant and growing organization with a broad based and diverse group of individuals with a common goal: to advance the sport of sailing.

During the late 1930's, various property owners, along with their friends, met regularly on the banks of Bayou Volanta, as it was known, to enjoy the cool waters. There was swimming, fishing, visiting, picnicking and above all boating of all types. Under the leadership of Otto Wadewitz these families decided to formalize their association.
Fairhope Yacht Club's facilities consist of a main club house with a large dining room, ballroom and bar. FYC's harbor includes wet 134 slips, ranging in size from 19' to 40'. Additionally, there is dry storage to accommodate 37 trailered boats, and loft storage spaces to accommodate sun fish, kayaks, optimist prams and canoes.
Please note the Score Sheet has been re-arranged a little and the "Sport Boats" are at the end if they would like to do some "One Design" racing along with our Series. Let me know if there are any errors. I've tried to update the Crew Lists and am providing copies as I really don't like to hear that people don't come out because they can't get crew, when there are lots of people who would like to crew.
Fairhope Yacht Club has active racing fleets of PHRF, Portsmouth, Catalina 22, Rhodes 19, Flying Scot, Laser Radial, Optimist Prams, Sun Fish and 420s. Members of FYC have available to them the use of several club boats once they are "certified" to use them. Members need not first know how to sail to become "certified".
Fairhope Yacht Club enjoys some of the greatest cruising grounds along the Gulf of Mexico. Mobile Bay has numerous opportunities for day-sails and overnight anchorages within a few hours of home. To the west are the barrier islands of Mississippi Sound, Lake Pontchartrain and New Orleans. To the east are Pensacola, Santa Rosa Sound and the Florida Panhandle.
