Oakes Memorials and Signs is owned and operated by Tim and Kristy Wolfe. The business is proud to build on the service and quality established by the Oakes family for over 40 years and three generations. Today, they provide services to the region including areas in both Virginia and North Carolina.
Oakes began in the 1940's as Chatham Monuments owned by Gus Keck until 1966 when it was sold to Calvin Oakes. It remained Chatham Monuments until 1989 when Calvin's son, Gary, purchased the business. Gary changed the name to Oakes Memorials and Signs and moved into the current location on Franklin Turnpike.

Oakes Memorials was professional and personal in getting a memorial installed. While we had the memorial done elsewhere, they never made any indications that this was a problem. Their installation fee was very reasonable and Amy was extremely helpful in taking care of various fees that needed to be paid to the city since our family is out of town. I was able to take care of everything while out of town and they had the memorial installed just one day after it was delivered. The memorial will need additional lettering when my father passes and Oakes Memorial contacted the company I used to make
