Roberta is extremely knowledgable, assertive, and confident in the counsel she provides. I ran into countless lawyers in NJ and NY for two cases I needed assistance with, and none were able to assist me or only provided "maybe's" and "i'm not sures". She was the only lawyer to provide definitive feedback when providing counsel on my cases which lead me to retaining her. I just got a text from someone who read my review on Yelp about this woman who is a licensed attorney. I am happy that my review made a difference as that is the reason reviews are so important. I can't say enough about how horrible this attorney is and how I had the worst experience with her illegal billing practice, her obnoxious behavior, her office that looked like a pig pen. I Recommend Roberta Tarken, Esq. for any Landlord /Tenant legal situation. She took my case in the middle of the pandemic and resolved it successfully. I received all back rent due and the tenant vacated the unit without any drama. Granted , her style and presentation can be off putting. However, in this area of the law, she is a powerhouse. The reviews about Roberta Tarkan are spot on! As a society we talk about how bad cops are but the attorneys are even worse and may not be able to physically kill you but they can ruin your life just the same. Roberta's office is indicative of the type of rude and nasty attorney Ms. Tarkan is. I recommend not retaining her and find literally anyone else but this bottom feeder who is rude and abrasive. I took this woman out to eat at Son Cubanos in West New York, NJ and she ate the food like it was her last meal, or first meal in weeks. She had gotten food all over herself and her clothing

She is one of the most rude person I have ever had the displeasure of conversing with. She is not only unorganized, but if you just ask her any clarification questions she begins to berate you and yell at the top of her lungs. Her job is not unique so please save yourself time and money by going to the other lawyers in the area.

I hired Roberta a couple of times over the past year to help me with some legal issues I was having, and she was very helpful. I would definitely recommend giving her a try. Roberta Tarkan is as Tina Turner once said, "simply the best". I recently went through a landlord/ tenant dispute and retained Roberta as my legal counsel. When searching for an attorney, I asked my friend and volleyball teammate who happens to do landlord/tenant lawyer (just as in-house council) for recommendations. Very unorthodox attorney. My sister passed away from liver cancer on Friday, November 16th, 2018. Roberta came to my sister's home on November 2nd, 2018, two weeks before my sister passed, to change beneficiaries on her life insurance. My sister was on her death bed, heavily medicated on morphine and had no idea what she was agreeing to.
Roberta then showed up at my sister's wake to confront me for contesting the change of beneficiary.

So I don't know where to start. I agree with all the negative reviews that have been written here. I am not sure how she had a career as a lawyer but she is soulless, rude, abrasive, all synonyms for negative words. I guess those are all qualities you need for a lawyer. I emailed her to follow-up on something and she sent back 3 very short rude sentences with no actionable responses. Disappointing, concerning, and unethical if you ask me. Having to deal with any court related issue is enough to stress anyone. Don't waste your time or money on Roberta L. Tarkan, you don't need to be yelled at or go through her attempts at belittling you. She is extremely rude and crass. I walked into the courthouse just recently and saw her with her legs up on the seats also. Classy NOT. I made the mistake of paying her for a consultation. Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY from her.

Roberta and her staff should get negative stars. I could go on and on with examples of their unprofessional work ethic, rudeness, lack or extreme delay of responsiveness, and moments of sheer aggression, but I won't. Please don't waste your time with them!! I'm sure they win cases but it is just not worth the stress of dealing with them, especially when there are so many lawyers out there that are not abrasive and rude to their clients. Don't believe me, see for yourself and take on this headache.

Beware and go get another attorney! She's not very helpful and very rude to deal with, almost shouting on the phone as if she does not want to talk to you at all. We've spoken with different attorneys with different legal focus and they all seem to be very accommodating and most of the time they'll give you legal advise even without formally retaining them yet. But this attorney will get your money first but if there's any questions or concern about the case you'd like to ask her, she won't even provide any help. This is even if you already paid her the fees. I

I had an extremely traumatic experience with Roberta and Sharon. Not only did I find them inefficient but I also found them unruly and abusive (sic). They have been apt at manipulating and creating intense friction between me and the other parties involved. By the time I figured out that they were the ones creating the problems and not the other parties I had lost a good deal of health, time, money and good will. I lost around ten grand before I quit and prevented further losses.
