Services
Our mission and promise is to provide a caring, relaxed environment offering supportive services and programs for individuals and families on their cancer journey at no cost. Dr. Stewart Surloff, a podiatrist from Akron, was in the midst of raising his two young daughters, Shelby and Abbey, with his wife Mimi when he was diagnosed with lung cancer in February of 2001.
If you or a loved one has been touched by cancer and you're not sure where to start, Stewart's Caring Place is your landing place. All of our services and programs are provided at no cost to anyone impacted by cancer, including those with a diagnosis, family members and loved ones, and those who have lost a loved one to cancer.
Support groups encourage conversation and understanding for those who are newly diagnosed or in treatment, those who have completed treatment and those supporting loved ones along their cancer journey. Attend in person or virtually. Education and emotional support for those helping someone through any stage of their cancer journey.
A holistic approach to a healthy lifestyle for those impacted by cancer. While massage, hand and arm massage, foot reflexology and mini facials are currently suspended, reiki is offered virtually. Currently being offered virtually or in person, Reiki is a Japanese energy-healing modality used to reduce stress, increase relaxation, and promote health through touch.
Programming is available for those of all ages. Join us for one of our holiday celebrations throughout the year or try out an expressive workshop for the whole family. Experience family fun at home this summer fresh from Stewart's Art Studio! We've gathered our top picks for summer crafts, colorful experiments and unique outdoor activities to stretch moments of wonder and keep kids inspired from June to summer's end.

Stewart’s Caring Place is a Cancer Wellness Center and it’s mission is to provide a caring, relaxed environment offering supportive services and programs at no cost for individuals and families touched by cancer.
They have moved into a new location and it is gorgeous, welcoming and very spacious. If you know anyone who has cancer I highly recommend they see what is being offered at Stewart’s Caring Place!

This place is a blessing among blessings. If you or a loved one are dealing with diagnosis, please get here ASAP, everything is free. Need a wig? Free. Need an exercise class? Free. Need a support group? Free.
