Leslie Coatings Inc. was founded in 1948 and has served the construction industry in a variety of ways. The company was a pioneer in the asphalt maintenance industry, specializing in the application of liquid coatings. These applications were the roots of the modern tennis and track products being installed today.
Leslie Coatings Inc. was founded by Jack Leslie in 1948 and he and his two brothers Richard and Robert formed Leslie Brothers Inc. Originally the company began as home builders and concrete construction, but it quickly changed focus and the next three decades were dominated by asphalt emulsion application and a building materials business featuring roofing and insulation materials.
Leslie Coatings Inc. installed our first tennis surface in 1954. It was a simple beginning of asphalt and tar coatings, a forerunner of today's hard court construction. Technology has come a long way in the last 57 years in the development of long lasting, high performance and aesthetically pleasing tennis court construction and Leslie Coatings Inc. is involved in all aspects.
Leslie Coatings, Inc. is an Authorized Applicator of Laykold Court Systems. Laykold Court Systems are a durable, fade and wear resistant, all-weather tennis and athletic surface, designed to beautify asphalt and/or concrete substrates while providing the desired speed of play. Only acrylic surface made by an ISO 9001 and 14001 certified company in the United States.
Leslie Coatings Inc. has been involved on a national level in the development of specifications governing the construction of tennis courts in the United States. We have chaired the Joint Editorial Board for writing the "Tennis Courts" book for the United State Tennis Association and the American Sports Builders Association and have served on the Tennis Facilities Committee of the USTA.
