Dr. Shepherd's professional life started off in construction in Orange County and Big Bear, where he built custom homes. While he loved being a carpenter he felt that he could provide his talents to a broad range of the community through healthcare. That is when he decided to return to school and pursue a career in dentistry.

Honestly the best dentists office ever. I really have never had a great experience at the dentist and today I had my second appointment at Dr. Shepherds office to get 2 cavities filled and I always get anxiety when I get the numbing shots. The whole staff including Dr. Shepherd were attentive when my anxiety kicked in, they made sure that I felt comfortable and heard and really went above and beyond to make sure that I was in the right frame of mind to get the work done. Then when it came to the fillings they did amazing work and my horrible cavity is now gone. I am really so grateful I started

I have been a patient of Dr. Shepherd's for a couple years and yesterday, I was there for a crown prep. Dr. Shepherd's assistant, Maritza, topically numbed the area prior to Dr. Shepherd giving the injection. I was still waiting for the injection when he informed me that he had already administered it! WOW!! No discomfort at all then or later that evening. The experience was so positive. The staff is great, very professional and I would recommend JBS Dental to everyone.

I've been going to Dr Shepherd (and Dr Kvarnstrom before him), for a long time, and I am very grateful to have found this place. Growing up I was one of those fearing every dental visit, very scared of pain. I feel glad to say I don't have that fear anymore. Dr Shepherd makes sure I know every step of my treatment, and I feel calm knowing he and his staff will walk me through without discomfort, taking time to listen as well as explain. The office has also been very helpful and flexible when making appointments which I'm very grateful for.

Best dentist ever!!! Dr. Shepherd and his staff are all top notch! They are welcoming and always make you feel comfortable, and he has the best bedside manners I’ve ever experienced from a dentist. Another great thing that I value is that they are always on time and don’t make you wait, yet they never make you feel rushed, they always take their time to explain everything and give you options. I'm a periodontal patient, so I've gone to many dentist offices in my time. I like this dentist more than the others I've gone to previously. I've known the dental hygienists there for years, and they do wonderful work, as it's needed with my gum problem. The dentist noticed I was grinding my teeth so they got me a night guard for bruxism. Jessie is an awesome office manager, and gets me the best appointment times available. She is also great at communicating with my insurance company for me. I bring my son here too. No one looks forward to a dental visit, but all of my visits here were painless

Awesome knowledge of his practice. I was going to his father in laws practice and when I heard he was retiring, I was a little nervous at first, but I believe you should give others a chance. Dr. Shepherd knows what he is doing and knows what needs to be done. I have terrible teeth and he has helped me tremendously and has advised me if I am having pain, he knows if it's teeth related or something else.

I am not a good dental patient but Dr. Shepherd's office has been fantastic. I needed 2 crowns and a filling and I was so comfortable and never felt any pain. Usually, my anxiety is sky high. Nothing but rave reviews. Also, they were up front with the costs and friendly when setting up appointments. Nothing but 5 STARS from me!

I have been going to this Dentist Office since I was a little girl. Recently the practice was taken over by Dr. Shepherd and I have been so happy with my experience. The staff is very friendly and professional. I love Mirtha! She has been my hygienist since I can remember. I honestly look forward to my dentist appts! We have recommended all of our family and friends of all ages to make this their family dentist office. All have been very happy with their experiences. :)

Dr.Sheperd is a wonderful dentist. He uses all the new gadgets to make going to the dentist much easier than it used to be back in the day. I live in Laguna Woods and travel to Fountain Valley because I trust him that much. I don't know about you....but it is very hard to trust these days and I guarantee you will feel the same.

The staff is always warm and welcoming, and I trust their expertise. Recently I went in for a cleaning, and per the request of the hygienist Martha, Dr. Shepherd agreed that I needed a filling. I quickly asked if that could be done during this visit, and in the hast of agreeing, we did not discuss additional charges. Within an hour of leaving the office, I received a phone call that they will reverse the charge of the filling as we did not discuss it. I would say that deserves 5 STARS!!
