Gersons Building Materials was started in the 1970's by the Gerson family. Howard ran a demolition company and soon he and his son Ron were selling the products of their work. The original Gersons store was located on Stone near the U of A, but soon moved to a new location. Gersons was at 1811 S. Park for about twenty years, where it really came into being.

Since being purchased by new owners in 2007, Gersons has become the place everyone knows and loves with merchandise expanding into doors, windows, bricks, lumber, pipe, toilets, sinks, vanities, cabinets, light fixtures, and a whole treasure trove of completely random but amazing unique finds. In 2013, Gersons relocated to 4726 S. Country Club just north of Irvington.

Gerson's is the place to go. We always stop by and everytime find something for a new project. The employees are golden! Prices are great. We stopped by and got some wood fencing. They were cooking out and offered us some food. Definitely stop by and plan some time to look around. It's one of our adventures we get excited about every weekend.

Great place. All sorts of stuff for home repair(used). Found toilet bowl cover for 1970's toilet. 30 bucks, new toilet, 100,150 bucks. Savings, 70 to 120 bucks. Don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure this one out. Lots of interesting stuff.

You will not only find pulled items but also donated new and items Also an array of items to bring your home/blds into water and energy saving standards and compliance. This place is great and seems to get better every time I come back. I go here about 10 times a year and am always happy with the way things are laid out in order and the low to non existant pressure, or " help offering". Theres usually about 3 people working there, one at the register, and 1 inside organizing and helping customers. The other person is usually on the forklift sorting and helping customers. 4 stars because I think a few things are priced a tad excessive for what they are.

Lots of great stuff here. Good deals. If you need a door, there's a good chance they have one for you. Lots of used materials. A decent section of new in box items. Always a favorite of mine just to cruise around, wander and shop. Lots of paintings in 5 gallon buckets with plenty of colors to choose from for a great deal! Friendly staff. I'll be back for sure.
