**Family-Owned, Clean Pet-Friendly Motel That Checks All the Boxes**
The White Eagle Inn was a very nice stop to recharge on our way to New Mexico. Being a family-owned hotel with just three owners in 60 years, it was satisfying to support a local business run by two charismatic and enthusiastic owners that deeply care about their property rather than another hotel chain run by the "Big Six" (IHG, Choice, Wyndham, Hyatt, Marriott, Hilton).
We arrived late at night, but the owners were so kind to arrange a late check-in process. Check-in time is from 3-9 so they were generous to accommodate

Host was outstanding. He was friendly, informative and eager to take care of whatever you needed for an enjoyable stay.
Rooms are very clean, functional and comfortable. This is not a luxury accommodation hotel, but that is not what you are paying for.
I loved the high pressure in the shower. Most places only offer low pressure with a shower that dribbles. At White Eagle the shower delivered a refreshing blast of water to facilitate getting all of the previous day's grime off your body.
The hotel was close to several good restaurants and bars. The hotel provides an extensive book of local information

Super super SUPER clean. Water pressure was AMAZING! The pillows were awful. Pets are “allowed” but not really welcome. There’s a cute little sitting area with a ton of chairs and benches but your dog isn’t allowed there. There’s a designated pet area that was a patch of dirt. No chair, no bench, nowhere to sit down, nowhere to relax. The contrast was weird. It was sad. Great place if you need somewhere to lay your head for the night. If you love your pet and want an area for them. Steer clear of here and stay somewhere else.

This is the cutest little inn! Extremely clean and tidy. Smelled fresh walking in the door. Beds are cozy! Water pressure is excellent. Love that they have separate towels in the rooms for designated purposes (rag towels, shower linens, makeup remover towels, etc.) The staff was lovely and welcoming. We will definitely be coming back if we’re ever passing back through.

DON'T JUST DRIVE BY THIS PLACE if you're looking for a place to stay in Cortez!! From the outside it may look like one of the older single-story motels - YET very clean and modern. It's located just outside of town yet dining and shops are within a quick driving distance. If you are looking for something fancy, this is not the place for you. HOWEVER, if you are looking for a clean, comfortable, and quite room, this is definitely the place. Retro heaven! Great, great place to stay. The office closes at 9:00 pm so make sure to call ahead to get your reservation. I pulled in to see if they had an available room after a 15 hour drive only because I was tired and wanted a place to stay. What a gem to find. The management is great! The room was great. And the throwback retro was too much fun. To top it off, I got a good night's sleep in a comfortable bed and a warm shower in the morning that left me energized for the next day. Great spot. It is family run, cheap, friendly, and accommodating. You've got to know what you're getting into... it's a roadside motel, so if you're looking for a ton of amenities or super high end, brand new designs... well, you'll pay more than this. At this price point, the place delivers on exactly what you should expect. It's clean and you get a good night sleep.

Immaculately clean, even the grout on the tiled bath area sparkled. We were travelling with a baby so cleanliness was very important to us and we were not disappointed. Bathroom floor was heated, our room had a fridge and the modern heating and cooling unit worked great. Decor is dated, but extremely well maintained, everything has a fresh coat of paint. Office staff is friendly. All at a great price. I wish all hotels/motels were this clean! I plan to stay here again!!

Stayed at this lovely motel for the night - 7/10/17. Very comfortable and quaint, a retro feel that is so fun! Kelly the manager is absolutely awesome. We had plans for just the night and moving on. But, she told us about all the great restaurants around; a big help if you have never been in the area. Plus Kelly told us about Mesa Verde National Park which we would have missed. It is an amazing park that I'm glad we had the opportunity to explore. Thank you so much Kelly - many Blessings to you and your business, you deserve it!
