A scooter is classified as a motorcycle and you may seat two people. A motorcycle license is required and you must be at least 21 years old to rent or operate a scooter. You need a motorcycle license to rent a scooter because it is over 50cc and in the same classifications as motorcycles. You may also carry a passenger on a scooter and flow with traffic on highways/freeways.

He sold me a used Suzuki Burgman 400 for a fair price. My mechanic was impressed how complete and detailed their repair service records were. Some tourists ride the scooters hard, but Kauai Mopeds keeps them running well. A big scooter really is the best way to travel around Kauai, except for a few winter weeks with non-stop rain.

The moped was great to see the island. Just know they do not go that fast, so you’ll be driving on the shoulder or bike lane. The moped barely using any gas though. I only paid for probably 10$ in gas the entire trip. It is also super easy to find parking since in fits in small places. There’s also a great culture with driving a moped and others on mopeds! The owner was super cool and let me extend an extra day! Something that was convince to as well was the drop off and pick up. I had to be there for getting the moped at drop off but not for when the company picks it up! Just be mindful it

Called asking about availability and they said they were booked until August. Cool, that’s on me for not checking in earlier. I specifically asked if they were the only rental company on the island. The guy who answered the phone said yes. This is not true. There is at least one other rental company on the island and they have better prices. It seems that many of the reviews commenting on shady business practices appear to be true.
Edit: the owner responded making it seem like another rental company started after i had spoke to them. I found the other rental company the same day I requested

I had a great experience with Kauai Mopeds. I rented the Yamaha YZ 250 motorcycle, equipment was in good condition. The owner deliver the product at the scheduled time. In addition he went over the the equipment with me upon delivery. He picked the motorcycle back up at the scheduled time was a seamless transaction.

Major thanks to Tracy for coordinating our scooter rental. Scooters were delivered to our hotel on time and the handover happened efficiently. No issues (so far) and traveling the island on a scooter is the way to go. Remember to bring a jacket cuz it will rain on you. Then, drive slow and safely. Thanks to Tracy and the team for a great experience.

Kauai Moped was a great, well organized business they both dropped off and picked up the bikes from the condo we were staying at. We were so happy with the price and the service that we ended up renting for another day. The owners were great to us and I would highly recommend their business to anyone looking to rent bikes and rip around the island. We got the Suzuki 650s and were very happy with their performance, perfect bikes for the island.

This is an absolutely amazing local Kauian company and exploring on a scooter is such a great way to see the island!! I really enjoyed getting to see the sights up close and personal and really be in the nature of the island. It’s so easy to use that you can park anywhere and hop off your bike for a quick adventure. You can easily hop on and off your bike to catch a view of a waterfall or a cascading mountain range. I even, unfortunately, encountered an small accident on my moped and Tracy and Russ were so helpful and accommodating so that I could continue to enjoy my week on Kauai! I have nothing

This guy was AWESOME. Delivered bikes to the random beach we happened to be at, set us up, and picked them up at a different place. We LOVED cruising around the island on these. Definitely the highlight of my trip. I went to all kinds of waterfalls, coffee shops, and towns on this little moped. FUN FUN FUN.

Amazing service, great mopeds!
This was a family trip that I had planned for a couple of years, so everything had to be perfect. The activity that we were all looking forward to the most was getting our mopeds and Kauai Mopeds did not fail to provide!
Their mopeds were all in top shape, brand new, and clean. But the best part was the convenient and super friendly service. Rus was very accommodating and gave us some great local tips.
We did everything while on Kauai: ziplining, tubing, helicopter ride, Napali cruise, and ATVs....but we all agree that the mopeds were the best!

Great experience! I rented the DR650 with bags so my wife and I could run around the island. What a great way to see the island! If you are not used to wind on a dirt bike, it can be a lot for most folks, but, me I was fine. My wife loved it!
The bike was in great shape, low miles, and functioned flawlessly. The suspension seemed setup for a bigger rider or two up average sized people. The locking luggage showed some Kauai weathering, but, worked just fine. (I liked having locking luggage on a single key). The tires showed very little wear, plenty of tread with a road biased (80/20) tire

I ride my bicycle to work every day but I’ve never ridden a moped before so to be honest I was a bit nervous at first. On the day of my rental the owners dropped off the moped as scheduled, which is perfect because there’s hardly any public transportation and the taxis here can be pretty expensive. They were super patient and made sure I knew what I was doing. They gave me great tips like riding slow in the bike lanes and the experience was very similar to riding a bike. This was an outstanding experience and made my first trip to Kauai!

Wow!!! What a great personal experience my wife and I had with scooter rentals with Kauai Mopeds. The customer service was excellent along with communication about our rentals. Our scooters where delivered to our beach resort. We scheduled a 10:30am drop off and they arrived 15 minutes early. Russ and his female co-worker madd the process so easy. Pick up was a breeze. I highly renting from them!!!! They truly have the Aloha spirit!!!!

A great way to see the island. To get anywhere interesting, you have to be willing to white knuckle it down the highway for a bit. Really enjoyed the shorter trip up to Opeka Falls and beyond on those country roads. Also, the backroad between Poipu and Koloa were a Hawaii fantasy. Finally, drive through the Marriott property--low traffic, fantastic views. Friendly and convenient drop off/pick up service. We were surprised by how sore our tooshies were and the amount of sun we got. A great experience!

Was looking for a 1 day rental on short notice and wasn't able to get in touch with/ coordinate anything with other rental companies on the island. Kauai Mopeds and Scooters (and motorcycles) was able to quickly line something up and deliver it to me within an hour. On top of that, they had no problem with picking it up (they deliver and pickup for free) at a different location, on the other side of the island. They even made another trip to come back and give me my deposit (I wasn't there when they came to pick it up). Overall, great service, great prices, great people and a great experience,

I called Tracy from Kauai Mopeds 1 day before our reservation. She was very communicative and helpful. I even had some questions during our rental period and she got back to me right away. I would definitely rent from them again. They deliver to where ever you are, and make the return process even easier. We had a blast celebrating my daughters 19th birthday.

While we had a BLAST renting our mopeds I won't be renting from Kauai mopeds again when we go back to Kauai. Yes it is nice they bring it to where you are and pick it up at the end. Super convenient. They will try to upsell you on paying $5 extra per moped to have them fill it up with gas at the end but it only costs $2 to fill it up yourself. Also, one of the mopeds we received stopped working an hour after we got it. We had to wait for about 30 minutes for him to bring us another one, and when he brought it to us it was only filled to half a tank of gas. The mopeds were fun, and worth the

We rented scooters while staying in Haena. They came out dropped off two nice scooters and took care of everything. Very customer service oriented. We rented from Marlen and Pedro before but when they closed Tracy and her husband are our go to scooter guys. No matter where you are staying they will bring them to you. It's a blast and easy to get in and out of Tunnels for snorkeling. See kauai at a whole new level.
Only thing. Wish they had little bigger scooters. But ones we had were in good shape and did the job! Would recommend you give it try.
