Located at the entrance to Camden's inner harbor, on the western side of Penobscot Bay, Camden Yacht Club (CYC) is a vibrant, family-oriented club which has served the boating community since 1906. CYC operates seasonally from May through October and is a well-known destination for Downeast cruisers.
Our youth sailing arm, the Camden Area Youth Seamanship Program (CAYSP), has produced many fine racers who have gone on to success in college sailing and beyond. The Camden Yacht Club facility has served the boating community since the early 1900s. Nationally renowned architect John Calvin Stevens was hired to design the present-day shingle style clubhouse, with its oriental overtones and large porches.

Services
Camden Yacht Club is seeking launch operators for the 2021 season. Applicants must be at least 18 years old with current USCG Limited Masters License and First Aid/CPR certification. This is a seasonal position with competitive pay and a year-end bonus. Full-time or part-time availability is acceptable.
For more than a century, as the waters of Penobscot Bay warm and Camden Harbor stirs to life after a long winter, scores of young people have learned to harness the power of wind to move boats of all sizes effortlessly through Maine's welcoming waters. Generations of children, at first apprehensive and timid, have developed the skills and knowledge from their older counterparts to feel competent and comfortable on the harbor's waters and beyond.
IMPORTANT, PLEASE NOTE: Class spaces are limited and awarded on a first-come first-served basis. Your student is not enrolled in class selections until you a receive a confirmation email from us. If a class is full, you will have the option to select an alternate date, be placed on a waiting list, or receive a refund.
Please come sail in the CYC Summer Series! Races will be run in a laid-back manner and everyone should feel comfortable entering and competing. This is not hard-core racing! Four races will be scored as a series. Three of the four races will be tallied in the series, permitting one race to be dropped if all four are sailed by the competitor.
The Camden Classics Cup (CCC) is on the calendars of classic, vintage, and Spirit of Tradition boat owners looking for the best sailing in New England. The event usually opens the classic yacht racing season in Maine and serves as the introduction to Camden Classics Week. This race benefits LifeFlight of Maine.

Among my very favorite places in the entire world. There are few better occasions than sharing a wonderful lunch in the sun and wind while sitting on the picturesque lawn surrounded by friends. Beyond that, it’s where I was first exposed to what has become a life-long passion as learned to sail and make meaningful relationships. It’s the absolute best!
