Indeed, entertainment is the general nature of this business but I like to think of myself as being in the hospitality industry. Yes, I handle the basics just as a traditional DJ but my goal is provide you and your guests with a great overall experience from beginning to end. Anyone can purchase cheap speakers and everyone has access to music these days.
I sincerely mean that too. This should be a fun experience for the both of you exploring all kinds of ideas and thinking of all the different possibilities for the day - it's exciting dang it! During the planning process a ton of decisions will be made and selecting the right DJ is going to be a huge one.
A corporate event is where true talent and the ability to entertain are crucial. The work place is a melting pot of different people, at different points in their lives, with different backgrounds, and have fun in different ways. Our goal with such a diverse group like this is to create an environment that brings everyone together for an evening of well deserved fun.
Heck - I'm sure there are guys just making them up along with their own reviews online. My advice - look at reviews from multiple sites and sources to get some real world feedback about the vendors you are looking into. Wedding Wire and The Knot are great sources because vendors can not pay to have their bad reviews removed.
Here you will find people that I work with on a continuous basis, love, and put my total faith in because they have proved themselves time after time. Mike was an excellent DJ and MC for my daughter’s wedding reception.
He was quick to answer questions and respond to us via email or text. He paid attention to every detail, and the music he played was exactly what our crowd wanted to hear! His price is very reasonable and well worth the money. I would totally recommend him for any type of event!

Mike is a blast! He puts great attention into making sure he is giving you a reception (and ceremony) to remember. I say that because he is more than a DJ - he is really the “glue” that holds everything together. Mike not only DJ’d for our reception, but he also provided the backlighting and sound engineering portion of our ceremony. This included mic’ing our officiant and groom to avoid using a clunky and often inconvenient mic stand at the front of the ceremony. Mike is personable and professional guy, and really the cream of the crop in this industry!

My super awesome wedding is the title that Mike gave my wedding, and that is exactly what he delivered. From the first meeting with Mike, I knew he could give us a wedding that wouldn’t be forgotten. He is super energetic, organized, and knows how to get a party going. Communication was on point, music selection hit the mark, and all the little details down to the uplighting made our special day super awesome. Id recommend Mike 10/10 times

We can't recommend Mike enough! He was professional, personable, and an absolutely amazing DJ! Music during dinner was perfect and exactly what we asked for. Once the dancing started it did not stop until the venue was kicking us out! There wasn't a single moment that Mike didn't have the dance floor packed with guests. The entire playlist was amazing and perfect. Huge thank you to Mike!!

Mike truly went above & beyond for us on our wedding day! He was always so much fun to talk to and easy to communicate with. During our day, any time he had a question or concern he easily found us & double checked anything. Mike was always so much fun and easily enjoyable to be around and speak with. Every song he played during our reception was a hit and the sounds we choose for everything else he played with ease as well. He went from our DJ to a friend which says something in & of itself!

Mike is the guy for your special day ! He was very attentive and answered every question and concern I had right away! He had great suggestions and we had multiple sit downs before the wedding day so he knew exactly what we wanted! He kept the party going all night and had us all having a blast! Ceremony music was amazing and clear as well!! And the uplighting was an amazing touch that made our receipt really pop with color!

I cannot say enough about how great Mike and Must Be The Music was to work with! After meeting with him the first time, my now husband and I didn’t even make it to the car before we decided that we 100% needed to have him be our DJ. When we had to postpone our wedding because of Covid, it was incredibly painless, and we even got a great message from Mike on our original wedding date!
Once replanning started, he continued to be incredible to work with! Mike is super responsive, really fun, and incredibly thorough. He worked with us and our venue to make sure the timeline was exactly how we wanted

Mike Simmons was the DJ for our March 2021 wedding ceremony and reception. He was amazing from start to finish! Mike met with my Fiance and I to go over every detail for the ceremony and the reception. He kept the music flowing and kept the guests on the dance floor. We had a wonderful day and Mike was one of the main reasons everything went so smoothly. The uplighting he provided was a beautiful enhancement to our reception.
