Located and operated in Savage, MN. The Tree and Stump Co was founded by Bob Hutcheson after acquiring the name and phone number from Jake's Stump removal in the mid eighties. Bob also owned two prior tree-care companies in the area that were maintained by independent sub contractors. Tree and Stump Co. is now run by his son Rob Hutcheson with Bob and Marlene Hutcheson handling all the book keeping and decision making tasks.
In 2007-2008 the city of Minneapolis imposed a certification mandate on all tree-care workers licensed in the city and with that Rob passed his certification through the International Society of Arboriculture. Shortly thereafter a few other communities have also followed suit. The Tree and Stump Co. is engaged in safe practices of removal and trimming of trees, shrubs, and stumps.

In these photos we are doing a crown reduction to a mature maple tree. A co-dominate split in the trunk and a few cavities in the larger branches warranted a need for. At this site we were called in by one of our regular landscaping contractors. It wasn't one of our most desirable cities to work in with the distance or traffic involved.

Very professional and knowledgeable, thwy did an amazing job with a price you cannot beat!
I have used T&S co for two separate jobs to cut down (2) 30-40ft trees in my yard and to grind 4 stumps. They did the job so fast, cleaned up wonderfully, and removed a bunch of tree branches and brush I had in the back. I highly recommend you use these guys for any tree care service!

Had a pretty terrible experience with these guys trying to get some work done for my home. They came out and did a quote for 4 separate things I needed done (Brush removal, tree removal from a fence, dead tree removal, and stump grinding). The quote was good so I called back confirming I'd like to go ahead with 2 of the 4 items, asked if they could give me a time window and was told "Nope, someone will call you". I had no call 3 days later so I called again and was told they'd have the owner or his son call me back and let me know. I figured it's been storming so maybe

I heard about this company from my father many years ago. He had a one acre lawn and a lot of trees. I have also used them over the last 20 years. Their prices were consistently better than any other bids I got. They are efficient, thorough and clean up the site very well. I do not bother to get other bids or opinions anymore. I just call The Tree & Stump Company and know I will get good work done for a reasonable price.
