With highly skilled surgeons, trained in the unique needs of bariatric patients, our program provides effective weight loss surgery procedures performed by our bariatric surgeons; Dr. Collin Brathwaite, Dr. Jun Levine, Dr. Anirudha Goparaju, and Dr. Venkata Kella. Our mission to deliver safe and effective surgical solutions with a compassionate touch.
Dr. Jun Levine is a bariatric and minimally invasive surgeon with NYU Langone Long Island Surgical Associates. She is currently the Director of the Fellowship for Advanced Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery. She attended medical school at SUNY Downstate Medical School and practiced in New York City before moving to NYU Winthrop.
Patients of the weight loss surgery program have a dedicated and compassionate staff working with them at every step of the process. Our network of support teams and specialists is trained to care for the unique needs of gastric bypass and LAP-BAND System patients, and works closely with our bariatric surgeon to ensure that they achieve their weight loss goals.

Dr. Brathwaite is Chief of the Division of Minimally Invasive Surgery and Director of the Bariatric Surgery Program.
Per NYU Langone Health Systems precautions, our in-person seminars will be postponed during this time. Our goal is to avoid large congregations of patients together when remote access is available. I attended the Winthrop Bariatric group free seminar to get educated about the various weight loss surgeries that are available. The seminar was very informative and the physicians answered everyone’s questions. There was even a post op gastric bypass patient who answered questions about his experience. Great presentation seminar! The problem is that these doctors have such a large volume of patients on a waiting list just for the 1st visit you can wait 2-3 months to see the doctor! I wanted to start the 6 month pre-op process so I made my 1st appointment with the PA for a month. I completed
