Long story short: i scheduled a pickup and no one came. They are not reliable and do not own up and take responsibility….Long story is I called the day before to schedule a 530am pickup at my home to bring me to the Asheville Airport. I was told I would get a call 10 minutes before the driver would arrive. At 5:30am I hadn’t received any phone call so i called them. They fumbled and connected me to ‘dispatch’. Fast, reliable and friendly. Not much more you could want from a transportation service. As someone who regularly takes Uber and Lyft, I was really happy to come across this company when I traveled to Asheville for a wedding over the Halloween weekend. For some reason Uber and Lyft drivers and sparse in the Asheville area, and when I scheduled a pick up through Uber they advised that no available drivers were around despite being and early afternoon pick up from the airport. This was advertised as a "black car service". The car that showed up was a filthy blue Toyota that stunk. The driver was rude and drove erratically. His driver app (on the phone he kept playing with) repeatedly issued "slow down" warnings as he weaved through traffic. While driving like a madman he also spent time rooting for a beverage can in his passenger seat. The can looked very suspiciously like a beer!
I have had some bad taxi and ride-share rides but this was the worst by far. We were in fear of our lives.

Was in town for a bachelorette getaway and had to fly out this morning. This entire weekend Uber proved to be extremely unreliable in this area. Asheville Taxi truly saved my butt and got me to the airport so I didn’t miss my flight. I wish I had used them this whole weekend because they were great! I recommended them to my fellow bridesmaids to use instead of Uber for their transportation to the airport. If I’m ever back in Asheville, I will happily use this company again! Thank you!!!

Lied multiple times about an arrival time for the car, and then tried increasing the price by 40%. Don't trust these people. They are dishonest to their core.

I asked the fare from my home to AVL airport. The guy who answered the phone said it will be $19. This I prepared $4 tips in cash. When taxi arrived our home, it was small sedan without any sign of TAXI. Floor was very dirty. The driver said it is company's car, not his. When we arrived, he said it is $25 including airport fee and service fee. And asked if I will add tip. So $30 total was paid for 8 min ride. If they upfront tell me , it wouldn't be this bad.. please vacuum the car frequently. I've never seen any car this dirty.
Also let us know up front how much it will cost all together.

This cab company has convinced us to go back to cabs over Uber! First of all, they saved us. We had ordered an Uber for an early trip to the airport and they never showed up. I called AVL Taxi and they were there in 5 minutes and got us to the airport on time. They were very communicative, the car was clean, the driver was nice. You couldn't ask for better service. I wish they operated where I live! Shoutout to the driver John too.

Being a stranger in a strange town, my wife and I needed a taxi service and we had no idea where to start. Enter - Asheville Taxi. After downloading their app, scheduling a ride was super easy and transparent.

The part that impressed me the most about this company is how they handled an incident, that had initially left a funny taste in our mouths by going above and beyond to right a technological mistake that had been made.

Capping off a fantastic visit to Asheville, our scheduled ride fell through with less than two hours before our flight. Thankfully, Asheville Taxi was able to accommodate a very last minute request and get us to the airport in time to make our flight on time. I will definitely use them again for future trips to Asheville and am grateful for their willingness to help us on short notice. Sprinkles on top - our driver was very friendly!

I had no idea how few Lyfts/Ubers operated in Asheville (I was never able to successfully connect with a Lyft/Uber driver on my trip despite multiple attempts). After some research and a recommendation from our hotel, I texted AVL Taxi. I was able to get a quote quickly and reserve a trip from the Biltmore Winery to downtown Asheville. I had called and scheduled pick up for a large group. We had to originally book 3 cars- 1 minivan and 2 sedans- to fit our group. After some rearranging and some folks deciding not to go, I called to modify our reservation to 2 vans only and the dispatcher confirmed the changes had been made with no problems.

I tried to get a ride for a client of mine who is disabled. When I said I wasn't sure of the destination the employee said "Well ,we have to have one." This had never been the case before.

I told him that this was not the case in the past and he hung up on me. I'll never use the service or recommend it to anyone. Avoid at all cost, they are rude and unhelpful.

I booked a car from AVL taxi because I had - 7:00 a.m flight and was worried about finding an Uber at 5:15! I called to schedule my ride a day ahead, and they were very friendly and accommodating. My driver Allie arrived early and found my location in an apartment complex easily. She was very friendly and a great driver! The fare was very reasonable and comparable to Uber. The app and text messages from the company made this company especially seamless to use! I will definitely be using again any time I am in Asheville!

If you deliberately do not use Uber or Lyft, do not use this driving service. This is not a traditional taxi company. Drivers are not required to take drug tests. They are not required to have a commercial taxi license. And they are not required to pass a criminal background check.

I called this cab in Asheville. Driver showed up in an unmarked car which was his personal car.

I declined the ride and searched for another taxi company. Use caution when using this service.

Way way way better and more timely than any Uber. Call these guys instead of an Uber or lift for this area. Good prices and nice people.

I've been using Asheville Taxi (AVL Ride!) for years! Definitely a superior option than Uber or Lyft! I much prefer riding with a locally owned and operated company- and it's really nice to be able to call in and speak to a human! I also highly recommend texting them!

Apparently there is a ride share company that actually cares about its people. The app is awesome and they actually have real local people to respond to your needs so you are supporting local. They take cash and pay their drivers more so you get a better experience and not just rude rushed underpaid drivers like the other guys.

I tried scheduling a Lyft Saturday night to the airport the next morning, but the scheduling option was unavailable. I didn't think much of it because Lyft has been pretty reliable during my stay here, but got up a little bit early to make sure I had plenty of time to get a car... zero lyfts available. Choose this service over Uber while staying in Asheville. Trust me. Justin picked us up perfectly on time from downtown to go to the airport. He was polite, easy to talk to and drove perfectly.

We found that Uber rides, although a bit cheaper, were unreliable - cancelled at the last minute or took twenty minutes to even pick us up...not to mention the scary driving we experienced with Uber.

None of this was even close to being an issue with Justin and Asheville Taxi. They have a convenient app, ability to text to order a ride, and great communication.

I originally had a reservation with Asheville Premiere Transportation for an early morning ride to the airport. That driver didn't show. Luckily the hotel I was staying at called this company instead. The driver picked me up 10 minutes later even though it was 5:30am on a Monday morning. The car was clean, the driver was friendly and professional and best of all the fare was $20 cheaper than what the other company was going to charge me. I made it to the airport on time thanks to this company.

Woody and his crew are awesome! I had a special, unusual request for a taxi pick up for my bicycle from home (my wife was there), and bring it to the local bicycle shop, no passengers. Even though it was an unusual request, they didn't miss a beat, were flexible as I confirmed the cycle was ready for pick up, and paid over the phone. The driver communicated well, was easy to work with (I saw the whole pickup via FaceTime), and promptly delivered it, no problems.

Great experience last night, I am so glad we chose this taxi company. I texted this company earlier in the day requesting a pick up from my house so my friends and I wouldn't have to drive drunk to the Civic Center for a show. Our entire communication was done via text which was very helpful to me. The driver arrived on time and at the place we requested. He was very friendly and personable and when road construction forced him to take a detour to our destination, he stopped the meter. He did NOT need to do this and it was really appreciated. He dropped us off, the fare was extremely reasonable

Woody was great. He was at our restaurant within ten minutes and knew a ton about what was going on. As I write this, my wife and I are talking about how we'll definitely call him tomorrow. New company, great choice.

PS Use the Cab Hound app to get in touch with them. They prefer that; but I think calls are alright, too.
