Really appreciate having a place like this in Pittsburgh. We get all of our chicken supplies (as well as our chicks), seed starting mix (they have professional mix) and garden supplies as well as good advice.

We have had better luck with plants from Bakerstown Feed than from other garden centers. They seem to be healthier. Nicer selection than at Lowe's or Home Depot. Their staff is very knowledgeable and gives good advice.

Would give them more stars if I could. Calling to order firewood and have it delivered the next day was extremely easy and pleasant. Was surprised at how nice the people on the phone were and the guy who delivered it, I think his name was Brandon? They were all VERY friendly and polite...especially considering my complicated sloped and curvy driveway. Will be back for more business for sure!

Any basic google search will let you know that a ceramic birdbath cracks in the cold. I've purchased dozens of pellet bedding here and never had a problem other than when I got it wet myself. The package recommends wetting it as the preferred method of use anyway. It's a friendly locally owned store never had an issue.

I prefer smaller businesses over big box stores, but this place is not customer focused. I bought a large, ceramic, glazed bird bath ($40) that exploded into pieces after the first night of mild fall frost - after specifically asking how this holds up in frost AND buying a bird bath heater for it (I was told it "should be fine". I didnt expect it to hold up through Pgh winter, but a 30 degree night, yes).
Fast forward to a few months later: I bought a bale of hay that they kindly loaded into the trunk of my SUV. At home, I saw that it was so filled with rodent droppings that I had to

I LOVE this place. They grow most of their own stock, have excellent knowledge, incredible buys/sales/incentives, and are my go-to guys for any dog equipment/food I need. If it's not there, they'll order it. Prices are really good for regular customers. It's a really large place. Sometimes it's nice to just take my pups to socialize or myself to relax.
