As a Third Generation company, it's roots date back to 1961 when it was founded by Irvin Jarzembowski as Irv's Fire Extinguisher Company. As a former chief design engineer for the fire protection company, Randolph Laboratories of Northbrook, Illinois, he brought into his business almost 20 years of professional fire protection expertise.
In 1961, Irv started with a single truck and a vision - to provide quality products and services to commerce and industry. Since that time, the vision continues to grow and flourish under the expertise of his son, Jim, Irv's grandaughter Julie and her husband Mark as International Fire Equipment Corporation.

In a suburb of Detroit, an unattended EDM machine was consumed by fire and listed as a total loss- a sorry state of affairs in today's hi-tech world. The owner of the machine admitted he considered protecting his investment with an automatic fire protection system but felt the additional expense was not justified - not the same point of view shared by his insurance company.

Utterly disappointing. Owners still think it’s the 1985, exploit their workers, and treat customers like they’re stupid. Julie is a LOT and difficult to speak with. Mark is cocky and snide. The only honest people are the *quite old* extinguisher techs being paid $10 less an hour than industry standard. Working at Walmart or McDonald’s would yield you a similar paycheck, with more room for advancement. And just about any other company can do what they do but better. They use undertrained and non certified technicians. These guys are losing customers on a weekly basis. They also think it’s
