Mervis' Cafe
In 1970 my Grandfather Jose Martinez opened a Convenience store with the help of my parents, back then we called it a General Store, he named it after his daughter Mervis, and so named it Mervis' Grocery. Very soon after, my parents Gilberto and Mervis became the sole owners and operators of Mervis' Grocery, until the year 2002.

It was located at 5281 Southern Boulevard, West Palm Beach, Fl. The store was about half a mile west of Haverhill road. A couple of years after my parents were opened, they opened the deli. That's when they began to make all kinds of Subs and sandwiches. They began making sandwiches that people from the town had never tried, but once they did, they became loyal customers for life.

This happy couple was featured in the Miami Tribune for one of the best Cuban Sandwiches in Florida. They nailed it. I never had it with "Tampa Style" i.e. Salami added and that made it pop. Very friendly folks and a nice clean place. The French Fries were awesome too. Well worth the trek from Stuart.

Good but not great, fryer wasn't correct temperature so everything was greasy. Better Cuban, Caribbean, & Spanish food available nearby.

Quick stop here for Café con leche & guava Pastelitos to go post surf session. The coffee was excellent! The Pastelitos were warm and had the perfect flaky consistency. There was ample seating. Met the owner who was very welcoming. The restaurant shares a building with a small post office. The Cuban sandwiches looked amazing.

Doesn't look like much when you walk in, as the building is kind of old and there's a post office inside, but don't let that fool you. I've been coming here for an iced cafe con leche for months and it is honestly the best in town. It's strong how I like it and at a good price. I'm pretty sure I wait less than a minute for it every time. I recently (finally) ordered some food and I was not disappointed at all. I got the palomilla steak with rice and beans and substituted the maduros for tostones for an extra $0.89. It was delicious and fresh. The way they marinate

TOP QUALITY! I called ahead to make sure they were open; an extremely nice man picked up and invited me in very politely. I arrived and was greeted promptly with a smile. I asked for a Cuban sandwich which was delivered into my mouth about 4 minutes after. This Cuban sandwich was of the utmost quality, even better than the Cuban sandwich I have eaten at Versailles restaurant in Miami! I feel bad for you if you don't eat here. Please redirect yourself into Mervis' Cafe immediately!

Look at these tostones! Mervis' is the best Cuban food around. Any place where you can order home cooked latin food and mail a package while you wait for your cafe is 💯 authentic. It's a must whenever I'm in Fort Pierce!

The latte wasn't my speed and I am not use to styrofoam cups when ordering lattes.
The beef yucca thing was decent, I wish it had more beef. The owner and the barista was super nice, so for that I will go back.

Although the food is great. But the Owner comes across as a snob. I've been coming here for a year pretty frequently and Just does not warm up. Sadly today was my last trip here just because Of the way the guy always acts as of he is doing you a favor by selling you food. Also still closes early even though the Yelp says its open til 5! They close at 3. Good for me I found another Gem closer to my home! Good Bye Mervis Cafe! Keep your Miami attitude !

You know that unassuming place where all the locals go for great food? This is it.
If you're vacationing, Mervis' Cafe is a must stop for delicious, honest Cuban food. Don't let the outside fool you, there are plenty of tables and seating, and the place is beautifully clean and friendly.
The staff is always smiling and kind. Eat in or carry out, call ahead for orders if you like. Local law enforcers tend to grab a bite here frequently, too, so you know it's tasty with fast service.
The full service post office counter is a fantastic time saver for me. Not too many are aware

I've been here a few times and it has been nothing less than the best! They have reasonable prices for good quality food. Today I dropped my fries before I could even make it back to the table and one of the lady's that noticed brought me a fresh thing of fries.. it is the little things that makes the biggest difference.

I will be back here! So far I've tried the Cuban coffee and the empanadas. I took a tray of chicken and beef empanadas to a party and they all raved about them. It is an odd ambience which in my opinion adds to its character. Nice find near downtown Ft Pierce.

As a recent transplant from the Miami - Fort Lauderdale area, I came across Mervis' Cafe quite by accident. Seek out the United States Post Office and you will find this authentic Cuban cafe tucked inside. They share the same building.

One Media Noche and a grande Cafe con' Leche for me. Eat in, rather than take out. I had almost an hour to burn before picking up my kids from school. Why not spend it at Mervis'?

Great sandwich with all the right ingredients and pressed just right, pickle on the side. As for the Cafe' con Leche, the 16 ounce cup contains about 4 ounces

The best authentic Cuban food in the treasure coast, hands down! Recommend the croquetas, cafe con leche, pulled pork platter, palomilla, and the Cuban sandwich. Adequately priced as well! Don't let the heavy duty paper plates fool you, the food is delicious!
