Rhonda re-upholstered a 100 year old family heirloom wingback chair. When we delivered it to her, it was in its original dingy blue fabric. Rhonda had all the wood refinished, and saved the original fabric nails to reuse to create some connection to the original design. She helped us pick out cow hides and a matching brown leather and redid the chair in that combination.

Rhonda does more than just retore furniture, she restores memories. We brought Rhonda two very unique pieces - two antique barber chairs that my wife’s grandfather used in his Chicago barbershop and an Eames chair that I had inherited from my great uncle. The memories associated with both were wonderous, vivid, perfect - the pieces themselves, not so much; torn, worn, tired. Rhonda worked some form of Harry Potter wizardry in her workshop restoring not only the furniture but revitalizing the memories. That’s her gift, that’s her magic. She and the work (or wizardry) she does are well worth

I have a rocking chair that has been in our family since the1880's. I took it to someone in Denver and they could not see my vision for the chair. So it sat for another year. I wanted to keep it authentic. I found Rhonda and she completely shared my vision. It was such a wonderful experience to work with her and I ADORE my chair!!

I highly recommend The Whimsical Chair. Rhonda did a wonderful job reupholstering my mid-century chair. She kept me advised on the timeline and also emailed pictures as the work progressed. She brought new life to a unique chair that has been in our family for 60+ years. It's obvious she takes pride in her work. As well she should--her attention to detail and skill produced a finished chair that is perfect in our bedroom.

Rhonda did an excellent job reupholstering our two chairs! She was super informative when it came to picking out fabrics, sent great updates throughout the process and did meticulous work, including adding upgraded touches like covering snaps with upholstered button covers. Reupholstery is not an inexpensive undertaking, but when you want to update quality pieces it is great to have a company like the Whimsical Chair nearby!
