Here at WoodStove-Fireplaceglass we use the term ceramic glass generically, meaning pyroceram, neoceram or robax glass. This glass has a slight "amber" tint to it. It is referenced as a glass, but in actuality, it is a transparent ceramic material. This type of glass-ceramic should always be used in any wood stove.
Neoceram glass enables hearth appliance manufacturers and dealers to provide their customers with safe, high-efficiency gas- and wood-burning stoves and fireplaces, while maintaining the latest design options. Neoceram glass can withstand continuous temperatures up to 1,292° F-nearly three times the heat resistance of tempered glass.
Robax glass is a transparent ceramic that is suitable for use in wood, gas, pellet, and coal burning applications. It can be used in most any High temperature application. It is an extremely heat-resistant, transparent glass ceramic which can be produced in a wide variety of shapes and sizes to meet your specific needs.
Because of the nature of this glass, and the way it is made, all sales are final. Because all orders are custom cut, there can be no refunds once the glass is cut. It can take up to 14 days because the glass is cut and then "cooked" in a high temperature oven, and then rapidly cooled. I was extremely pleased with the service I received. I needed a piece of glass to replace a broken one in my fireplace door, but wasn’t sure the type I needed. I called the shop and Mike had me text a couple pictures to him and he helped me order exactly what I needed. So friendly and personable! Order replacement glass for my wood stove. Paid $100 for overnight-air next day delivery. I figured ordering it on a Thursday, it ship Friday, UPS works Saturday....should get it by Saturday. Email Mike to ask what gives.
“You order was placed thursday evening(after hours), and was shipped out friday morning. it was shipped next day....sorry but next day would place it there on monday”
Nowhere in the shipping selection does it say, “overnight-air next business day.”
If you ask me, someone swiped the extra cash and stuffed me with a cold weekend.
